All New Summer 2008 Transfer Merry Go Round/Rumour Mill

Rumour has it that Coloccini AND one or two other players will be unveiled as Newcastle players at the open day tomorrow.

Well Coloccini isn't really a rumour, that's pretty much guaranteed. (I'll eat numerous hats if it doesn't happen)

We're not a dirty side though. We don't get all petty on a pitch and start lashing out :p.

We had Keane and Cantona, the former competitive, the latter a nutter, but either way, Vieira was extreme, he got sent off all the time :p. Hasn't Wenger had something like 60 red cards since he's been manager? It's staggering.

Yeah but strangely we won more games when we went down to ten men. So I dont think he minded. :D

indeed, rumour seems to be Coloccini and Warnock, as for the other I don't know

That said, this rumour sprung from nufcblog so god knows if its true or not

It says on NUFC.com various claims? Dunno who else if reporting it though. Keegan said he reckoned we would sign two more after Coloccini so hopefully they'll be unveiled ready for the Man U game, fingers crossed. :p

Edit- Apparently that Deirdre bloke is one of them.

Stephen Warnock to Newcastle? Thats the first I've heard of it. Whats the hold up on this Coloccini deal then? He was at the bloomin ground as well.

I guess they were just waiting for the open day. Now that the club is off the stock market the owners don't need to announce signings like before, he might just be thrown into the team on Sunday without anyone knowing. :p

Actually a good point. Arsenal do seem to play really well with 10 men.
Do you practice it in training? I know some clubs do.

Ramos practised it during a friendly recently. I assume most clubs practice is on regular basis.

It other exciting Spurs new, the club has signed veteran Spanish goalkeeper Sanchez on loan.

g.neville, scholes, butt, RVN .....they were "competitive" too as is Rooney on his day.

vieira got targetted because he had more skill than any other defensive midfielder by a stretch, he made good players look stupid many a time ;)

He also made himself look stupid on more than one occasion

i gotta agree entirely, rooney is a shadow of the player we all thought he would become, it used to be fun watching him run at players with no fear .....he's got his medals at utd but at the cost of individual brilliance he could have had at any other club.

personally i think berbatov has sulked the entire last season hoping for his dream move, i doubt you would see him 'lazy' at a big club.

He will be on fire this season if we get him a striker to play off, i also dont think we would do too badly leaving Rooney and Tevez up front

Not surprising though is it? Would you rather play for Newcastle or play for Ince alongside the players bought from MK Dons?

Let us not forget, he's already sold their best player in Bentley, rumours are Santa Cruz is off, Friedel has gone... Is it a case of 'jump ship whilst you can?'

I just found out today that Warnock played for England.

Didn't realise he was any good.
He was one of the best wing-backs in the league last season IMO.

To be fair he always missed the tackles because he was looking the other way so he couldn't really punish the players could he.
