Seriously, whatever you lot are cooking up is sounding really interesting. I think the free shipping is pretty impressive so if you can beat that then I think you'll need more staff for the store tbh ;).
 
I used to shop around due to the fact that at OcUK you had to pay for postage and other places had free shipping etc but my choice has just changed. I ordered an SD card yesterday at 3.30PM and it has just come this morning at 9AM!!!.

Exceptional service, the only option from the postage stage was for it to come on Monday but it has arrived today. Very pleased.

Firstly, it obviously makes better business sense to attract new custom rather than to reward existing customers.

Despite this, Yewen has already stated that there will be offers in the future which are targetted at loyal customers such as yourself but you still feel the need to moan :rolleyes:

Why not just chill out and wait to see what they come up with to reward people such as yourself?
 
grrrr , are people still moaning or person? ocuk can't win with some people, they've done a good thing by making something FREE!!! and people are still moaning..

c64 u qualify for FREE shipping so stop moaning and just use it. why should it bother u who gets and who doesn't. as long as u qualify for it nothing else should matter..

Hmm... I don't know, I kinda liked the community and the shop being separate. Might discourage people from speaking their mind for fear of getting banned and having to spend an extra fiver on shipping when they next order a graphics card...

Having said that, I've always said that OcUK has competitive prices but expensive shipping, and this puts them behind others of their competitors, ESPECIALLY on small orders (want to buy a fan and a stick of AS5? forget about it!), and free shipping would rectify this problem. But surely if you think free shipping will encourage brand loyalty and repeat custom, it'll work for everyone, not just forum members?

LOL proof indeed that this strategy is effective.....

Price of average SD card 12.99.......cost of postage to OcUK ~ & 8.00!! Nice profit from the forumites there.


Like i said earlier. I have an itching for a load of watercooling stuff & 2 x GTX 280's.........A bit of free postage might encourage that £600 + order
 
Well I got a Sandisk Extreme III 1GB SD Card and it was £5.60 I think usually the postage would be £5 or £8?

Great work from OcUK! Get ordering chaps.

i think they will be doing a reward for that..

but for this reward "For loyal OcUK forum members only" which means to me is that the people that post everyday or every other day are loyal members. example if a person registered in 2/6/2004 and only as 80 posts how is being loyal to the forum? u may only visited the forum 20 times within that time and ocuk wouldn't know..

He's been spending with them for nine years so he's hardly likely to stop now, thus OcUK don't really have any need to offer him further incentives. Despite this he's now got free shipping and the prospect of more loyalty bonuses to come for regular customers, yet he's still not happy :confused:
