How long have you gone without changing your Jeans?

Basically if you're not into denim, you won't have a clue how to look after your jeans. If you have decent, raw denims, wash them at your peril. If they are anything else, washing them won't affect the indigo too much at all. I've had a pair of 1947 501 Blue meanies which were pre-washed etc, and after i washed these a couple of times, there's no noticable difference.

I bought a pair of APC's New Standards (Raw, Japanese Denim, selvedged) 3 months ago. I do my best to wear them at least 12 hours a day, every day.

I febreeze them, and air them out at night times, sometimes take them into the bathroom when showering so the moisture tightens them up a bit. Bar that, if i wash these jeans, they will be ruined.

I'm dying for the honeycombs etc to start appearing. I don't tend on washing these at all to be honest. I'm scared the indigo will be too blue.

I had a pair of 1967 505's which ruined the indigo once washed. I didn't like these anyways as the cut on the crotch was way too low. The APC's fit perfectly. (size down 2 as they are stretchy though).

If your jeans aren't raw, you can wash them because you're not affecting the faded areas etc, as these are normally pre loaded into the more 'fashionable' jeans you find in topshop etc. The problem with this is that the faded areas are in places where they shouldn't be. It's not personal or anything and the majority of times the faded areas look stupid.

My APC's are a project, and are more than just a pair of jeans that i throw on in the morning.

1-2weeks between washes, and even then they arn't really dirty, I just feel they could do with a refresh.

Hate washing jeans tho as they always take a day or two to break in again

RULES FOR JEANS..

You only need to wash them if...
a) They are visually dirty
b) They actually smell bad (even after a once over with lynx)

If a or b don't apply, then they're fine :D

Q F T :D

I have APC NS too, almost 2 years now only washed twice

Back at uni I'd wash them every week or so. They'd also go in the wash immediately after a night out as they'd inevitably pick up cigarette smoke and/or spilled pints. Nowadays, I'm in a suit for most of the week, so any given pair of jeans isn't being used that much. My main pairs havn't been washed for a month or two. They don't have stains, don't smell, and if they're carrying around life treatening bacteria I'm clearly immune :/

Hate to say it, but surely general crotch smells from people will eventually make the groin area pong? Probably varies on how often you wash yourself though.

I skate in mine normally, so naturally have to be washed, otherwise they would just smell due to general sweat.

I have a mate who doesn't wash his much, he skates in them, went to uni in them, and pretty much did everything...Now surely, people can agree they would need washing?

Oh and to throw something into the equasion, is it just washing machines that would fade the jeans? Or would some of you guys not even hand wash them? Or leave them on the washing line in the thunder storm

Jeans should not be washed! unless they really, really have to be. my last pair didnt get washed and i had them for 7 / 8 months - i had to get rid of them because the bottoms got thrashed and ripped to pieces. so ive bought some more and fully intend to not wash them.

So if you where out one day, and it was blooming hot your legs got all hot and sweaty you could feel the sweat dripping down your leg, and ultimately the jeans soak up the sweat...Then you wore them for another week, etc, random activity etc...You wouldn't wash them?

Just curious.

I change mine about once every month or so, sometimes longer. I only wear them for a couple of hours a day after work though, so yeah. I wash them when they start to smell. My favourite pair have lasted me 5 years so far! Woo!
