God of War 3 to be the most graphically advanced game on the PS3

Jaggy as hell, and in no way bears any resemblence to any PS3 title I've played. I'm sure it would've looked a lot better on my old 28" Wega, but of course graphics aren't everything, and it's still fantastic fun to play. I'm enjoying it, but the graphics did come as a bit of a shock.

Some sense!

The PSP game is brilliant though and the graphics on that look great, even more so because it's so small jaggies are hard to spot. :D

I enjoyed God of War 2, I went through it on hard but decided to get rid of my PS3 near the end and I never got around going back to it, plus some of the boss fights got me so annoyed I wouldn't want to repeat. ;)
 
The whole point i made ages ago in the thread was that i feel GOW2 would have looked as good as some PS3 launch titles if it was in HD. The main criticism above was that it was jaggy, upscaled or not it still isn't HD so i still believe it would look awesome in proper 720p.

MGS4 is the best game of this gen, followed by Ratchet :p

You are assuming Alan Wake will actually come out this generation. :p
 
If i was to name the top game this Gen followed by a runner up.

It would be MGS4 followed by Gears of War. And considering how long ago Gears of War came to be, It's still one of the strongest contenders out there. Fantastic game. Just not as good as MGS4 :p

How could we forget you love for this game lol! Even though it sounds like the game since its first showing has changed a great deal after the Microsoft Exclusive deal came into play. There was an article written by the head of remedy doing the rounds last week.
Im not worried if GOW3 doesnt look as good as the hype or even as good as other games, if it plays as well as the other 3 games it will be one of my fav games this gen.

Gears looked bloody marvelous, and when i started playing it i was blown away, but 1 hour in and the cover system got frustrating and don't talk to me about the story!! ruined gears for me, which was a shame really :(

I hope gears 2 is excellent as it wont be too rushed out, although they will be trying to get it out at the same time as R2

^^^ perfect summation of how i feel about gears.

It was a good game, don't get me wrong, but i hate it because it could have been one of the best games ever made. I would like to think gears2 will address my issues.

You say that like MGS4 has big frame rate problems and doesnt look very good? You cannot compare Console hardware with PC hardware, it just doesnt work like, especially in the case of the PS3 were the Cell does some of the GPU work. All you have to do is compare GOW2 to some of the first or 2nd gen PS2 games and see what happens when they start to learn the machine.

The rsx just doesn't have the technological capability to render that in real time, no matter what software is running on it. For a start movies are rendered using ray tracing.

Ratchet?! Surely your fanboy love for Insomniac can only go so far? :(.
I would probably rate Ratchet as maybe the biggest disappointment this generation which is a shame.

I also wouldn't say MGS4 was the best game out (currently) though it may just make my best 5. Take away the cut-scenes and the game does lose a lot of its epicness.
 
Some crazy, crazy comments in here. I've seen people say GoW2 looks better than Resistance and Perfect Dark Zero. I've even seen a guy say Ratchet is the second best game on PS3 after Resistance. (Get ready for Jumpurs saying Quest for Booty is the third best game on PS3!)

I would assume it's all a load of drunk-posting.
