All New Summer 2008 Transfer Merry Go Round/Rumour Mill

Not sure how reliable this is (probably not at all) but Goal.com are saying the deal taking Robinho to Chelsea is pretty much done.

What are everyone's thoughts on Robinho in the PL?

As a Chelsea fan, I would love to see him come to Stamford Bridge. I would have course be as sceptical as ever though as it seems 60% of players we buy don't work out.

Rosicky has been injury-ridden all his career. Bischoff has played like 2 games or something due to injury. Silvestre has been injured on and off for the last few years. Nasri has already been injured twice in about a month.

Nasri wasn't injured. It was just so he missed the international (you will always pick up small knocks in preseason) He's already played 120+ games at the age of 21, hardly a sign of someone out all the time.

Bischoff was/is a gamble. Nothing to lose by signing him.

He always looks a class act for Brazil when I see him. He'll do good at Chelsea.

Goal.com is ****. It just reports, stories from other sources. The Robinho story is being reported in the Telegraph (and a few others) as being close to being done though.

As for how he'll do; he's clearly a top player but he looks a bit lightweight and if he's not 'up for it' he could struggle.

Fair enough, I only really read the BBC website so I am not really aware of how reliable other sources are. Thanks for pointing out how **** they are though, I'll keep that in mind :)

Yeah I think if he does come he will be in for a bit of a shock but he is young so has plenty of time to adapt :)

Not quite. It's being reported everywhere that we've agreed a fee but nothing official yet.

Apparently Espanyol are "happy" to let him go for the suggested fee (around 8 million outright). He now has to pass medicals and agree wages with Liverpool. He played 36 games last season suggesting he shouldn't have any injury problems. He also supposedly wants to play for us and we need a wide player (or 4) so they should really be able to agree wages.

If Robinho settles in at Chelsea then he will do very well for them, which is a worry for all concerned.

If they do get him, please make sure its after the deadline for him playing Sunday, we really need all the help we can get, and adding Robinho to their squad for that game gives us even less of a chance to get a point.

I doubt he'd feature without having much time training with the squad tbh, its not like theyv got a small squad or are struggling with injury

He seemed pretty miffed that Real Madrid viewed him as less of a player than Ronaldo (willing to send him over as part of a makeweight deal was apparently one of the suggestions made). If he really thinks he is that good then he should be up for it and work his little socks off accordingly.

As a Liverpool fan though I can't help but hope that he is another Crespo, Shevchenko or Veron and the rest of the Premiership will be laughing about Roman's obsession with blowing silly money on rubbish strikers (again) :)

Always taking goal.com with a bucket load of salt... but I'd quite like to see Robinho in the Premiership, he's got lots of flair and is a real exciting player to watch :)

I'm not. I hope he flops! Cheslea getting stronger surely isn't a factor you like? :p

Same as G|mp for me, whether or not Chelsea get stronger by this signing I couldn't care less... a top player like that in the league we watch week in week out can't be a bad thing :)
