Star Wars Spoiled Beyond Repair

1,2 & 3 are all terrible. None of this 'oh 3 is good' nonsense.

True enough, although I'd quite happily of watched that final fight as a bonus short feature on a Return of the Jedi dvd.

I did think the clone wars cartoon was pretty good, can't comment on the latest cgi attempt as I haven't seen it. That said it's probably better than 1,2 and 3.

I love Star Wars, always have. I think Lucas created one of the best imaginative worlds that has ever been created. He gave us fuel to dream, and still does today.

However he forgot what made the original films so great. He became too focussed on technology and flashy computers without realizing it takes away the charm of Star Wars.

Episode 1, I thought was a good film. Wasn't as good as the originals, but it was certainly a good movie. I think Liam Neeson was the reason for this, I think he carried a lot of it.

The second film was simply and utterly dire beyond all recognition and I blame one person for this, Hayden Christian. He has got to be the worst actor I have ever seen play a major part in such an expensive film. He was woeful in it and I hated every scene with him in. Just everything about this movie was wrong, it just simply shouldn't have been made the way it was.

The third was much more Star Wars, granted it had Hayden in, but his acting did improve and he wasn't a stick insect cry baby like in the second movie. The story actually felt like Star Wars and it did capture, in glimpses, that same old charm the originals oozed.

What Lucas is doing now with the animation movie and series is pure gold raking. You'd think he had gotten sick of making money but no, he's obsessed with it.

I think what every Star Wars fan wants is for Lucas to let go of Star Wars and allow someone else to have a go at making a movie inside his universe. He can still get money, but he just needs to let it go. No one will ever forget the originals, but he's slowly killing everything we loved.

Lucas deserves to burn in hell for ruining the greatest franchise that he himself devised.

Yep, even in the expanded universe when ever he sticks his nose in he ruins a story. For 10 years an excellent group of writers developed the story of one of Han's sons. Then Lucas poked his nose in and they had to re-write because Lucas didn't like his name.

Revenge of the Sith was only slightly bearable. Padames dieing speech on losing the will to live summed the film up nicely.

I agree with quite a lot of that. Especially about Hayden, cant stand his tone and bad acting thoughout 2-3, the CGI IS amaing in them though. Neeson and McGregor made 1 for me. 4,5,6 were just so much better for so many reasons.

I don't know what you guys are on about, everyone knows there are only 4 episodes to Star Wars 3, 4, 5 and 6. Its beyond me why they started half way through but there you go... crazy Hollywood people eh.

Well for me they are all amazing. Even Jar Jar Binks. He was a way of getting the new generation of kids into star wars. Don't you remember being amazed by Ewoks as a kid? They are just as stupid as Jar Jar. How can you say Ep 3 is 'Dire?' It's like the ultimate depressive ending. Even more than Empire (Empire being my favourite.)

However the new Clone Wars movie is awful. It should be banned it's that bad

Ewoks > Jar Jar. At least they were played by live actors, had no annoying dialogue, and you actually felt something for the little guys (like when that one died during the attack, shot by the AT-ST).

ROTJ was originally supposed to have wookies in it... but they decided it would be too difficult and possibly too expensive to pull off properly. Yes, wookies would have been a gazillion times better, but at least the Ewoks still fitted in regardless... a primitive yet sentient race of creatures native to the place where the shield generator was, that cared for the rebels and eventually took up their cause.

The new ones are brilliant. Enjoyed them far more than the older ones, especially the lightsabre fights. People compare them too much.

Loved episode 2, probably my favourite - the clone wars were and still are amazing to watch. Hated episode 1 however!

spot on.

How can anyone say too much CGI in 1-3?? What would you prefer instead? loads of little puppets or something?
