Bonnet gaps

Right,

the gaps on the front of my car are.....horrendous. It's the only thing that really annoys me about it to be fair.

The bumper is the worst thing, it must be 5mm lower than it should be, I'll be taking this off soon to see if I can reposition it. What is more annoying is the gap between the passenger wing and the bonnet, its big at the top, small at the bottom.

Does anyone know if there is much I can do about this? I hate it so much because it's so blatantly obvious if your looking at the front of the car from pretty much any angle.

Is it a case of loosing the wing and tightening it back up in a different position? or does it take a lot more than that?

Many Thanks,
Jake

Is the entire car bent or something?!

No, if you recall it was repaired every so professionally and in a timely manner by my Dad's cousin...

EDIT: It was jigged to bring the chassis back into alignment after the accident, and the car drives perfectly fine and tyres are not wearing unevenly.

My MG ZR has a gap between the bonnet and bumper which I think is just how it's built - the bonnet and bumper are brand new too.

Sorry dude, not sure if you know. The car was written off not so long ago and before it the gaps around the front were perfeck. see here

Just look at that wing! urgh!

Phate - you drive a Rover. Panel gaps are a design feature!

:p

This is the case for the rear bumper, they didn't fit them properly so pretty much all rear bumpers 'sag' on the drivers side. It's an easy fix, one I haven't got round to doing yet :) - It's just with the front out of alignment as well the car looks a bit of a shed at the minute :(

On mine, there are 4 bolts along the inner wing when you open the bonnet, and then 2 bolts at the top and bottom in between the wing and the door.

Loosen them and you should be able to move the wing a little to line it up properly.

Yep, that's exactly where they are on my car according to the zs guys :) - I'll have a crack tonight and post the results!

Shims under the wings where the flange bolts to the chassis will raise that wing and you can adjust the bonnet catch and rubber stops (wind them up or down on the slam panel) to alternatively lower the bonnet.

Cheers fella :) - Shall have a look and try that if loosening the wing itself isn't enough! Thanks!

You can play with the wing on these mate, there are bolts along the top of the wing which allow movement, ive rebuilt my fair share of rover's :p
