What words make you cringe?

"Back in the day ..." drives me up the wall. It's always used to try to show a sense of superiority or authenticity, e.g. "You play WoW? Lulz! Back in the day I was playing The Hobbit on my ZX Spectrum, noob."

Not really a word, but people pronoucing H like Rach (short for rachel) but replacing the R with an H...your not meant to put the H sound on the sound for H

ITS PRONOUNCED AITCH!!!! not HAITCH grrrr it anoys me soooo much
I used to have to do a lot of password resets over the phone for one client and all the usernames began with H... this guy used to drive me plum mad (though to be fair he was very annoying anyway). And they think 'haitch' is correct as well!!!

haha yea. wiki says its Aitch and i agree its the best way to type it out. Its quite hard really, i did consider maybe a Gailic AE together? hahha

It is a shibboleth, the pronunciation varies dependant on where you are from. So Irish English uses haitch and English uses aitch. Northern Ireland the split tends to be down republican/loyalist lines.

"bling", the way it originated from gangsta rap yet the people who use it are generally the least cool non gangster types.

As for fantastic, pretty sure it just means good in general, please explain.

Billy Conolly puts that word in every other sentence.
I use it every now and then when I can't think of the exact word/phrase, but it's not particularly relevant. "I bought one of those camcorder jobbies last week, was filming the girlfriend with it last night."
