Am I too old for games

Heading for 40 and no intention of giving up gaming :)

If I didn't have a decent clan though, I don't think I'd ever game online. As you get older your tolerance for little brats that can't spell or interact without being abusive gets very, very low :p

I'm 18 and I feel like that already! :o :D

Games are becoming extremely mainstream and aren't seen as the passtime of the geeky anymore. I saw today that HMV are dedicating more of their floor space to games, while decreasing the floorspace of their music area to keep inline with the growing demand for games.

Got my dad into wow at 45 ish, struggled to grasp it at first but managed to get to 60 easily enough. However no work on the house got done in that time which lead to a divorce. oooops!

I lol'd at that :)

39, love games, always have always will ;)

Course your not too old, gaming is becoming as big a hobby as Reading/Gardening/Movies and everything, its a billion pound industry and aside from that its bloody good fun!

And if my dad of 50+ can go out buy a DS and play it for hours on end, i think theres hope for us all :)

As my dad always said when i was a kid

"Son, you will get to a point in your life where old jars will become storage for nuts, bolts, washers and the likes of. At this point, forget what people tell you to do and just get on with what you enjoy."

Was a brilliant point :D

36 years of age here.

As long as there is the mute button to drown out the little brats online that use foul language and make me cringe at the things they say. (Blimey I do sound old).

There is a guy who is in my lotro kin who is in his 60's "Game On you wrinklies" is what I say.

I think gaming is definately becoming more prevalent in society and its not unusual to find people in their 50's playing games.
Hell, I don't think i'll be quitting playing games for the sake that i'm too old or whatever.

I'm still young now though, the more likely reason for me to stop playing would be general boredem.

Hey what about Grandma Hardcore?

35 here, cant see myself stopping gaming ever. Still have most of the same hobbies I've always had, Gaming, playing with synths and astronomy.

The more older people the better imo, they're easier to beat!

So true! I'm 61 and play all the MOHAA series and all the COD series as well as BF2,ARMA etc. I remember all the infantry stuff from my army days but am I slow compared to all the kids online!
I can work my way round a map stealthily and get good kills but when I meet an enemy face on my fingers/brain go to sleep and I'm a dead soldier!

Love combat flight sims since I played Air Warrior online and would go to bed at 2.00 a.m. with little red dots in front of my eyes.

If your to old for games your to old for life.

At 42 I will still hammer most of you at any FPS or RTS and even the best I will give a run for there money.

Oh so strong!

Your only as old as you feel, play games until you get bored. We have one thats reaching OAP age in our group who asks the same thing.

37 here, love playing games. I am in a TF2 squad and also play CSS. At the moment tho I am working through the NFS series of games and am loving it loads. You're never too old to be honest. Go forth and enjoy :)

Pretty old here too :D (late 30s). And I still enjoy gaming as much as ever. Willl be a gamer til I die. When I'm on my death bed I'll have the family bring in a laptop with some choice games on it, so I can have a blast right up til the end :p

Im 39 next week and have loved games since getting a Commodore 64 when I was 14.
My wife has just bought me a G25 Wheel for my birthday and and its also something that my kids enjoy with me.
Quit worrying about it I know plenty of gamers around my age
