How annoying is the human body...

WHAT!? TTIUWP!!!!!

Hate the dentist myself! Not been since I was 15 (22 now) - don't intend on going anytime soon either!

Something else. Does anyone eat on both sides of the mouth when they chew?

I used to but when I was a nipper my tooth started to crumble (but feared the dentist so much) so I started to eat on the oppostie side for months before going. So now after about 10 years I only ever chew on my left hand side. (current broken tooth is on the right)

You'll regret that in a decade, it puts a lot of pressure on your jaw bone and rapidly accelerates the degradation of the joint between your jaw and skull.

O Rly? Well once ive got my tooth fixed I may try and force myself to chew all over lol.

I just hope that once I have had my checkup the dentist doesnt say...

"Well that tooth needs fixing...Come back in a month..."

I wanna get it sorted asap! :(

I'd be interested to know how you get on. You should put up some before and after pictures. Its something I've thought of doing. How much is it going to cost you?

I will let you know. I will be taking before and afters but whether I post them on here or not is highly debatable. :D

I am getting 10 crowns, whitening, couple of root canals  and it's going to cost about £3700. That is for the high quality Procera crowns. For the more standard crowns it was going to cost about £2500.

That is just for the top. The bottom is not too bad and I have seen the smile design and am pleased with just getting the top done. With the bottom as well it looked a bit too perfect for my liking but then again I can always get that done later if I change my mind.

Massive savings and a very high standard of dental care. I'm looking forward to a nice week in Budapest as well. (albeit with an agony mouth) :D

Update :

More tooth has broken off...They should have a warning on the toothbrush. 'Warning! Brushing teeth may brake them!"

:(

Only ever chew on the left side really. Don't know why, it's more of a habit than anything.

I’ve had a similar problem with back lower molars. One would keep breaking off, and although the dentist would re-fill it, eventually it would break off again – often taking more with it.
It got to the stage last year where it broke again, which left 4/5ths of the tooth missing (right down to the gumline). The dentist said I had an unusually hard bite on the left, and the only way to fix it for the longer term is to have a crown fitted.
Luckily I didn’t need root-canal work, but it still took a while and cost over £500. Thankfully that was 6 months ago, and it’s holding up very well indeed.

So happy my teeth have a really low decay level. 27 and everything in my mouth is 100% natural. :D

Yup you're definately very lucky. Although genetics aside, im positive it has a lot to do with general diet and cleaning habits when your growing up as well. Without a doubt I used to eat too much sugar and im positive this has weakened my enamel, hence the problems I have now. I have also not consumed enough calcium etc in the past.

Trying to make up for it now its all going wrong ;) but im sure I could be almost entirely natural now with fewer fillings and crumbling teeth had I only listened when I was younger!

(god listen to me, im only 24 :\)

Just get it pulled out.
This was an option for me, but I decided that having a big open area where food could get stuck wouldn't be so nice.
If the root is fine (and doesn't require extensive root canal work) then I think it would be a shame to simply pull the tooth out.

Update :

Went to the dentist...He drilled a BIGGER hole into the tooth and said...Yep its fine. Just make sure you try to eat on the right hand side too...Overall nice teeth and gums. Result!

Although...I dont know if ill be able to eat on the right...Not with a hole even bigger than before!! wtf

could be like me and because of too much calcium need to go get it scraped off, other than that I have never needed a filing or any other work and im 23. Too much milk and the process aint cheap for scraping. lol
