What would you go for..?

I like the styling of both the S3 and R32. Even the figures are impressive, but, echoing other peoples comments, i wouldn't be able to spend 26k+options on one when i see things like M3's/STI's/S4's going for £15k.

I think it goes without saying that a 2nd hand version of these cars are recommended, maybe with the exception of the R32 which still retains quite a hight resale price.

nice but would imagine that would depreciate at an horrific rate, not that either of the new cars wouldn't

Well yeh (18mpg :\), but 414ps of V8 goodness is the reward

Also as a little bonus he'll be saving £6k+ which he can spend on a nice holiday and use as petrol money whilst having a much better car!

Once the air has gone through the intercooler and heated up, then thats why one may need vents... ? To get rid of all that air.

Or, the S3 is a decent car that has nothing really that bad about it, so if he wants one, then yeah, he won't be disappointed..

You have to admit that whichever way you look at it almost £30,000 for a 3 door hatchback is quite 'bad'
