i've built my first pc pics included

nice one :)

next time considering building it out of the case first just incase it doesnt boot or something so its easy to troubleshoot otherwise you have to unscrew parts from within the case when if it was out in the open instead of inside the case it would easier to troubleshoot...

errmmm no i anit touched it how i set bios up then and what do i do

dont worry about it now, you only need to get involved with the RAM timings and voltages if you plan to overclock your RAM and CPU..

For now its fine so long as you havent overclocked..

When you come to overclock as mentioned above there is a beginners guide to overclocking there so you can follow that and it will explain things more clearly..

Well done mate :)

ok cheers i will be shortly think i let pc run for a day or on normal and do a bit of reading ect,so far she's doing fine got that pc probe program which comes with mobo temps are cpu 13c mb 32c is that ok there is a AI suite and AI booster says i can oc from it instead of bois or are these programs crap!!

the ai booster and ai suite are generally deemed by the experienced OC's to be crap hence the suggestion of tweaking voltages and timings in BIOS..

Its really nothing to fear it just requires time and patience...Also remember just because your mate can get 4ghz doesnt mean you will there are lots of factors one must take into consideration when overclocking..

Also, dont be pressured to OC its not like you have to 100% if you are happy at running your PC at standard levels then its fine..

Why dont you go to the overclockers thread and print off the beginners guide to OC'ing and then decide whether you want to OC..

Finally if your PC is running fine i.e. no random restarts or freezing that crashes your computer again you dont need to bother with mobo temps. Mobo temps are monitored when again you want to overclock to avoid you burning out a component such as CPU, mobo or RAM..

Relax, you done a great job on your first build and it appears as if you have not encountered some of the headaches newb's usually do...so well done, put your feet up and install all the software you want and then enjoy your PC for a while before you look into overclocking..

Whats the spec of your PC?

I tend to use CoreTemp and RealTemp to check temperatures, and always overclock in the BIOS. Although it's more of a hassle, it gives you more control.

I got the same build as you pretty much, I expect that your Arctic Freezer 7 pro is running at 3k RPM hence making a lot of noise.

To fix this just go into bios (mash delete key when you see the asus screen at bootup) then go to power settings and there should be an option called Q fan control which you should enable, then you can set it to silent mode (900 RPM) and all of a sudden your pc is relatively silent :)

You will also have to set the correct type of audio received from your front panel (ac97/HDA) in the bios in order for it to work. The correct option depends on which connector you plugged into your mobo, both are included and it goes into the bottom left of the board if you can't remember. I can't remember exactly where the setting for this is in the bios so go have a look around :) The default is HDA so if you plugged that connector in you should be fine.

I wouldn't recommend installing the EPU 6 Engine that comes with the mobo CD. It makes your pc noisy and unstable. Uninstall it if you've already put it on. The sound drivers on the CD are a good idea though.

I would also recommend keeping both your case fans on low, unless you like the noise. It makes no difference unless you are overclocking.

Hello there :)

Well done m8, i busted a gut on my first build, thought it was gonna blow up when i switched it on for the first time :D, its a great feeling when you got your first build under your belt :p

well i must be a natural pc builder lmao just patience and took me time in doing it really double checked asked millions of questions on here and i got there with out any clitches, well sometime this week i be doing my overclock got read up on that anyone with the same spec as mine what safe results you get i would like help on it cheers

Cracking job there. :)

It is a great feeling you get when you do your first ever build and it boots up when you switch on, i remember my first build, took hrs as i was taking my time, but now i can knock em up in about 15-20 minutes, it takes longer to install windows. :D

Enjoy.

Well done matey, I enjoyed reading the thread too.

I completed my first build yesterday and now wished I'd taken step by step pictures to look back at. Yeah, maybe a little sad I know

I have a feeling I'll be leaving mine at stock levels for a while though. If it aint broke, don't fix it eh? I'd only end up breaking something and I don't need extra performance atm.
