HL2: Episode 3 to be unvieled at end of year?

I strongly believe that after Episode 3 is released, Valve will concentrate on a new project which is set in the Half-Life universe but not Half-Life 3. Perhaps something based on the prelude to the Seven-Hour War or the war itself, following the actions of a new protagonist, an Aperature Science employee for example.

I think something fresh would be good :)

Looking forward to Episode Three... A LOT. I will eat my eyes if it is released this year.

P.S G-Man is from another dimension, where the combine succeeded in conquering earth because Gordon died at Black Mesa after the resonance cascade. Although that dimension (his original home) is lost, the G-Man and his allies decide to try and stop it from happening again. Gordan is the key, you see…

I prefer hardware, folding, and modding to gaming.

Although I love a good game, I just don't follow a lot of them unless it's caught my eye through the above things I like :P
Look it up, it's going to be special, and probably modded to hell.

I imagine a lot of OcUKers are probably going to form a L4D party on launch too, that is going to be immense.

will defo get it if it is out this year ! not sure about the g-man but i wouldnt be surprised if there was a twist with him bieng related to gordon in some way...

Valve Software "may" reveal Half-Life 2: Episode Three before the end of the year, the company has said in an interview.

You realise this doesn't actually mean anything, right? They 'may' release it next year. We 'may' go into a recession. I 'may' win the lottery. Its just a clever ploy to get people hyping up the game :p

Fraid not.

About bloomin time. Shame it's going to take so long, but if they're wrapping it up, it's worth doing right.

Gman is Gordons sister.

They aint wrapping it up though are they, they said ages ago EP3 was not going to be the last one, plenty more to come.

Yeah, I didn't mean it like that. I think Episode 3 is going to be game to answer many of the lingering questions we have had about Half Life for years. Being the last in the episodic line (or was that rumour about a 4th confirmed?) I am not expecting it to just be another middle child. Am am expecting some closure in this one.

About time, have been waiting for ages and by the looks of things there may be a long wait yet. I thought the idea behind episodic content was to get the games out of the door faster at a lower production cost instead of more than a year gap between them.

***Spoiler***
G-Man is Gordon's son sent back in time to save Gordon at the original Black Mesa event.

Oooo yes please. Give Episode 3 :).

I wonder what random modifications they will have implemented for the source engine this time as well.

Oh and Gordon Freeman is clearly in the same situation to Sam Beckett.

Theorizing that one pass through resonance cascades within his own lifetime, Dr. Gordon Freeman stepped into the Anomalous Materials Lab and vanished. He awoke to find himself trapped, facing beings that were not known and driven by an unknown force to change things for the better. His only guide on this journey is the G-Man, an observer from another time, who appears occasionally and then quickly buggers off, that only Sam can see and hear. And so Dr Gordon Freeman finds himself leaping from horrible situation to horrible situation, striving to put right what is going wrong, and hoping each time that his next leap will be the leap home and preferably away from the G-Man.... who happens to be Gordon.... From the Future..... and he is just tormenting himself.... because when he was younger the older Gordon tormented him so he has to because if he doesn't there will be a paradox and the whole universe will probably die.

Oh boy!
