I take it you have it coming as well :)

I am not as excited about this as I was for GTA IV, but I have a feeling I will get a much longer and more enjoyment from this game than I did from GTA IV. We shall see :D
 
Played it a bit today and I thought it was pretty good.


I aint played the first one, so I canny compare but it seems a very good game so far. :)

Oh, I have it coming. :cool: It still says 'packing' for me though. :( I'm not expecting it until Friday now.

As you said, I'm noway near as excited about this as I was for GTA:IV. But I'm anticipating not being as disappointed either. ;) Average graphics, average physics and what not, but it just looks like SO much fun... And on co-op.... Well, let's not even go there. :D

I can't wait. :cool:

Like ScarySquirrel I'm not as excited as I was for GTA IV, but I reckon it'll be better (more fun)
 
Been playing this tonight, quite fun tbh but will no doubt be pushed aside with the major releases coming up. If I don't finish it within 2-3 weeks i'll probly not touch it again! It's a marathon game tbh.
 
Anyone got their copy yet?

I'll be popping home on lunch to see if it has arrived and to get a quick game in.
Although FIFA 09 didn't arrive until release day so I am not getting my hopes up.
 
Mine has arrived and I got about 30-40 mins game time in earlier. I did the first two missions and created my character, nothing else yet as I had to get back to work.

Initial impressions (a lot of comparisons with GTA I am afraid, but it is only natural):

- Graphics are ok, much more 'crisp' than GTA but less realistic. Not a positive or a negative, just something I noticed.
- Driving - Not keen on this so far, it is basically the same as SR1 which was fine at the time, but I was one of those that LOVED the driving in GTA. Hopefully as I play SR2 more I will become more used to it again
- Running and shooting - Love it, same as SR1, but now you can pick up objects and stuff as well. Much prefer this to GTA.
- Animations - Havok is old hat now for me, after the delights of Euphoria in GTA it feels like a step back, however it is still fun running people over and gunning them down :)
- Framerate - I turned V-Sync ON so I don't get tearing and the framerate so far seems perfect :) Better than SR1 I am pleased to say

I am VERY much looking forward to getting into some of the random activities throughout the city. The above is just a brief summary of my initial thoughts and as mentioned with a natural comparison to GTA.

This game is completely different to GTA as said before and I would say this is a good thing. Pleased so far and can't wait to get into the rest of the game :)

ps. The 'cockney' accent you can pick is awful, lol!

Nice to see a quick comparison without any fanboyism! :) good on ya!

Personally I loved GTA4, still do, didn't give Saints Row 1 the chances it needed as I got it as a filler 3 weeks before GTA4 and was a tad obsessed with GTA4 stuff, will be nice to play it with a clear mind, then throw someone infront of a train :)

Is there online MP aside from Co-op? :eek:
