It popped up when launching the game earlier. It didn't show up on my bro's system though, he had to edit the download link or something to manually grab it so we could play together still :p
 
If you have vista, right click on the game in the "Games" part and click Control Center, then click check for updates.

Just played through most of the soviet campaign again this time with a friend :D Co-Op campaign was a good idea.

I can pick up one or two tanks at a time, but i can't move the spot where it hits, even though it's showing direction arrows.

And i keep screwing up the left/right click for stuff, why do they have to mess with the basics!

When you use it, select it like you would a normal unit and "move" it like a normal unit by right clicking! You can also go back to the one click method of controls under the settings menu and selecting "Traditional C&C controls" or something like that.

Anyone not able to get the 1.03 automatically, check the official forum post about it as it has direct download links which I had to use as the auto update wouldnt work (seems a complete mess!!) - http://forums.ea.com/mboards/thread.jspa?threadID=457732&tstart=0
 
I also bought this game this afternoon from my local retailer....Installing now :)


Hope i like it....Always been a big fan of the C&C games.....
 
Good grief, how powerful is the Rising Sun? First mission against them (as soviet) and they handed it to me in about 10 minutes :eek:
 
Admittedly just started it and played a skirmish - but how is there Chronosphere technology if Einstein never existed?

Hmm I might get into modding for this game... if only to make the units more identifiable than blobs of vivid paint
 
I don't like it so far. It's too cartoony, and far too overcomplicated.

What happened to Red Alert being simple, good fun with a gritty undertone?

Really am struggling, like the game, but I cannon win a skirmish on 2v2 with the AI on Medium :(
 
After sobering up i can still say i'm really enjoying the game. Like a lot compared to what i was expacting. It's not revolutionary but with things like the three factions being nicely different and floating bases it just all seems so fresh.

The Ai on the other hand is tremendously good in this... i'm so far struggling to beat hard enemies on most occasions and brutals (i know they cheat) sometimes get the better of myself and a friend of mine. Apart from some maps they just keep the pressure on and so far i dont always know what to expect from them, for example their use of mixed attacks and using seige units properly. It's doing a better job than the sorian Ai for supcom.

I thought the AI was pretty terrible. You can chase them away by simply selecting all your units with 'q' XD

That is a seriously weak argument for not having demos :p

Buying games on blind faith is something I will not do these days, so that pretty much necessitates torrenting it. Reviews don't mean jack today as hype will inflate scores way too much, and reviewers are afraid of upsetting the fans.

Although I don't even like recent C&C games enough to torrent this one. After reading some opinions here I think I'll just give it a miss :p
 
Hi all just installed this game this morning. During the startup vid kaspersky picks up keylogger activity in the RA3_1.0.Game file. is this normal? Has anyone esle got this?

If you're using the DVD then it's fine, ignore it. However if you downloaded it, not saying you did then I wouldn't risk running it.

Anyway...

Anyone here who wants to 1v1 or co-op or anything tonight just lemme know :) I'm up for a few games with some OcUK ppl!
