Oh my god!

My best mates mum was a Top Gear presenter and I never ever knew!

Sue Baker ... Herself - Presenter / ... (107 episodes, 1980-1991)

Bloody hell, I knew she was a motoring journalist (still is) but I had no idea! She never mentioned it and I've known her for 15 years.

(New) Top Gear's producer Andy Wilman used to do the odd bit of presenting on 'old' Top Gear.

Other presenters:

Michelle Newman (now on Pulling Power)
Jon Bentley (now on C5's Gadget Show)

Oh.. the proper top gear where real men would review real cars, like Daewoo Elantra

and Massey Fergusson tractors

and emmmm... pink snow scooters.... (and yes, it looks like Global Climate Change (tm) was off the hook back in the day)

I don't ever remember Jon Bentley presenting on Top Gear. I know he was a producer for a longtime, I believe he hired Tiff and Jeremy, but I don't ever remember seeing him on the show itself.

When he went and started producing Fifth Gear, after Old Top Gear finished, he occasionally presented items on that show, as well as obviously he now does the gadget Show.

When Fifth Gear came here to shoot "Killer Luggage" Jon was producing still, and was a real fun guy to talk too.
