Game Endings to become DLC?

Probably the same people who pirate games then if they can't afford broadband, no great loss.

Good job I don't work for Microsoft isn't it?

I was actually talking about broadband proliferation and availability tbh, it is not as easy as the UK in most places (I think UK has very high regional availability compared to a lot of countries, but even that has only been in the last 4 years-ish).

Think you hit the nail on the head. It would hurt them more in the long run
I don't think people quite get how this all works.

This is developers coming up with this plan. Developers don't get any money from the second-hand market. So how would it hurt them to kill it off? It wouldn't, and lets face it, if there was no second hand market, people would buy more first-hand games, because they'd have the cash around. It might not be from the same developers, as protest, and it certainly wouldn't be as many as they could have got second-hand, but it would inevitably go up.

Well I for one would not buy the game if i knew I could not sell it on later.

It would make me become a pirate tbh. The will always find workarounds leaked full games ect

This will only hurt the people that buy the game

awful idea to me. why should they get any cut off 2nd hand games? no one else gets a cut out of their stuff being sold 2nd hand (cds, music, electronics, books, cars etc. etc.). they are just being greedy.

Some people in this thread are blind to any issues outside the UK and probably base broadband availability on their regional cost/availability.

LOL. And people say I have a closed mind because I live in London!! :D

You have a closed mind because you live in London! ;)

I was reading about this yesterday, though the topic of it where I read it, mentioned that the whole point of this, was to crack down on the 2nd hand market, not to curb piracy.

I have to say, if they did introduce something like this on the PS3, where I do, of course, like many other people, sell on some of my games when I'm done with them, to help fund new ones, then I'd pack in buying games at all.

I'd even consider a 360, and flashing the firmware, rather than support that.

Greedy sods! They must realise that people sell games second hand to fund buying new titles for a start. Second, you can buy anything, be it a car, or just anything. When you get fed up with it, you sell it on, of course, and use the money to buy something else.

I think the whole concept is disgusting.

Vin.

Its already happening though. The adidas live code for fifa. Very sly and if you go to ebay it loads of people want to know if you have used the code. The gears map pack will be the same if you try to sell it on.

The Adidas Live Season codes are the same though?

developers griping at they dont make any profit from the second hand market...why the heck should they?

i buy the game its mine (so to speak) so i should be able to sell it if i like (obviously i cant reverse-engineer it and whatnot)

greedy baskets....

next thing you know motor companies will be asking for a % share from all 2nd hand car sales...

Just another scam to skin more money of the consumer....

As mentioned, it would have a large effect on those who dont have internet, like my brother, he has no phone line connection in his house so would have to fork out an initial expenditure of £120, then source out BB, since we are both arent in cable areas that leaves the more expensive, slower options and hes one of those people who buy games then trades them in down at his local rental place so he can afford a new title, he spends far more on games than i do and i dont trade mine in.
