After being with your girlfriend for a while you run out of things to do...

Thanks for all the comments so far people! Got a fair few new ideas now, hopefully she will be interested in some (other than the dancing!). :)

Tsk :P

Just think of a) the brownie points you'll get for taking her dancing and b) the opportunity you then have to cajole her into doing something outside of her own comfort-zone that she might end up enjoying :)

hmm Me and my fella are almost at 5 years and we have the same problem but right now money is a major issue.

We tend to stay in and watch telly most nights we're together. We planned to go to the cinema but money got in the way of that but mcdonalds has come to our rescue on that!

we have day trips in summer sometimes but usually something gets in the way. Like for example...right now i have the rest of the day free and he is at work till 8...tomorrow im in uni at 9, hes not in till 2, friday im at work, he's at uni then free all day.

Our timetables at uni this year couldnt be more different. we manage to squeeze an hour in on mondays to have dinner together.

He's just rejoined the gym which id love to do but i cant afford to. :(

i'd say money is definately our biggest barrier

Play WoW together.

Works for me and my girlfriend, five and a half years and counting! :)

I suggested this as a laugh as she hates the thing, I learnt my lesson never to tease her over it again.. more scary than any raid boss i've encountered.

Initiate an argument about who is the best driver then suggest a session at a race track to find out once and for all. If she likes it then buy a cheep track car and spend the weekends racing.:D

Sounds like you two got together at a young age and barely have anything in common! Now you're getting older it's becoming clearer and you're just together for the sake of it. Wait till she meets someone at work who shares the same interests and you'll be the new magic_x! \o/

Thanks for putting that in such a nice way...

OXO tower

I did this on our 3 yr anniversary - would highly recommend it but be prepared - food is quality but a bit pricey ie starters of 3 scallops = £15 (WAS WELL NICE THO!)

OT: dons is there a way to change 'wise guy' title for girls to be 'wise gal'?.
'wise guy' doesnt sound right for gals like sara who have great forum input/advice :)

Very kind, think it's all a bit automated mind? Though it'd be awesome...

It's daft really as I've not been in a relationship for longer than 3yrs so tbh I'm only speculating!

Maybe I'm just hoping against hope that I'll be wise enough to be able to follow my own advice if I get that far (would love to, fingers crossed with the now BF, he's a real keeper)...

It really sounds like your problem is that you don't live together. I've been with my boyfriend for about 3 1/2 years and we only ever struggled to do things together before he moved in. The biggest issue for us was that we would have a certain amount of time together and felt almost forced to spend it doing something. Now we spend time together when we feel like it, and more importantly, we try to spend time on our own.

We don't do a huge amount together (mainly because I can't go out much) but I can't remember the last time we were struggling to find something to do. We had a lovefilm membership for ages, and watched through a lot of tv series like someone else has suggested, we also play games together. One of my favourite things though is to go swimming together. Our gym has a small, quiet pool, and it's fun to just splash around for half an hour.
