best internet provider?

IDNet.
When it comes to internet these days, you get what you pay for.
I pay a lot, dont get a lot - but i do get very very decent speeds.

I agree.

If you don't download too much (less than 30GB a month) and want a decent, reliable and constantly quick ISP with just a one month contract then check out IDNet.

If you do download > 30GB, then look at one of the Entanet resellers (also 1 month contract) or 02 broadband (12 month contract).

absolutely. Be* are without a doubt the best ISP in the country.

they couldn't care less about what you download or when you do it.

^ couldn't agree more, coming from virgin cable then to virgin adsl moving finally to Be* was a revelation.

seriously in order to emphasise the point fully

Be*

is the best isp

I'd stay away from o2/Be just now....due to massive new customer influx there's bad peak speed issues for the large majority of users.

Actually it appears to be a small minority, and work is being done to rectify it. Out of everyone I know personally who has O2/Be* (about 10 people) only one of them is seeing the issue, he's in Bury.

Try coming a bit further NORTH, there's a whole 14 page thread on it in Be* forums :(

There's a 22 page thread on the o2 forums, with a poll, in which 92% of people say they are having these problems with peak speeds at about 512k right now for the large majority.
