Half life 1 quid and change on steam

i have half life on another account to my main one, is there any way i can have a game transferred from one account of mine to another?

If you buy this, does it give you the option to play the original mods like CS, Day of Defeat etc? I had a boxed copy on another account that would.

Anyone got an idiots guide how to do this if you purchase HL for a new account?

I'm happy that Steam remembers what you own, it's cool being able to download all the half-life games straight away, without having to hunt around for the disks again.

Maybe this 1 dollar half life love you long time offer is because they want to see what the sales of l4d could have been had it been a bit cheaper

economies of scale and all that yer know

That would explain the brief time span and the timing

I was going to buy but I still have the disks for hl generations and Ive never actually got round to playing any of it, I just got it for CS

Can I install it and use that HD upgrade mentioned in this thread or does that only update steam installations

Has anyone else been charged £1.50 fee for using a debit card? On my statenebt iuve been charged 80p for the game and £1.50 for using my debit card

It's probably also being used as a loss leader. Get people in because it's one of the greatest games ever made for £1, and then they spot other games and do a bit more shopping.

Is there such a thing as a loss leader when you're talking online distribution via Steam?! :)

Yeah of course there is, but its not really a "loss-leader" in the truest sense, since Half-Life will have made more profit then they would have ever projected.

It's not really though - a loss leader is something sold at or below cost. Half Life has already made a phenomenal profit. - even it was now given away free, it still couldn't be a loss leader, because the cost is nothing! The only costs incurred might be negligible ones via steam distribution, but that might equate to a few pence per download.
