It's not really though - a loss leader is something sold at or below cost. Half Life has already made a phenomenal profit. - even it was now given away free, it still couldn't be a loss leader, because the cost is nothing! The only costs incurred might be negligible ones via steam distribution, but that might equate to a few pence per download.
Was going to buy this but it says is 9.99 on Steam, have i missed the boat on this ?
Aye, which is why its not a loss leader in the traditional sense. It's something they can afford to write off for £1 though.
No we're not, which is why I said they can afford to write it off for £whatever, because they've made much more profit then they ever expected.your all forgeting the millions upon millions they made on hl1 back in the day. hl for a £1 is like a free lunch for them! They havent done anything, we all bought it so they made like $50 from all of OCUK for doing zero work.![]()
