Half life 1 quid and change on steam

Half Life uplink...man that brings back memories. It scared the crap out of me when I first played it. Fond memories of it being awesome :D Going back now though might be anti-climatic!

The system requirements from Steam:

I know the original Half Life (non Steam) even had a software rendering option.

I'd be amazed if it didn't work, and work perfectly but worst case scenario you've lost less than £1 to find out :)

Just got it on my main machine and there is the option for D3D or open GL :)

This and Quake 3 make for a nice couple of games on the move :)

If you buy this, does it give you the option to play the original mods like CS, Day of Defeat etc? I had a boxed copy on another account that would.

just got my copy and played throught the training i'd never played it before as wasn't as in to pcs and pc gaming as i am now (plus i had no money).

I can see straight away how this must have been massively ground breaking back then, looks good at 1680*1050 with loads of AA and AF too.

yeah...

I might fire up HL: Source tonight actually....haha.

I got stuck on the bit where you have to crouch jump onto the skytrack cart. Tried for about ten minutes but no one told me its actually jump then crouch, doh :p

I might go back and play it super high res with 16x AA and hope I dont get ill from the blockiness. Would be good if they could have added co-op or something

That's why someone made Sven Co-op :p

Didn't the console version have co-op actually?

Originally it only did 1212x786 (or something perverse) which i found out years ago when i booted it up on my (then brand new) 1680x1050 screen. Im really pleased the 71p i spent has sorted this out :D
