Grand Theft Auto 4

Yes, it's all my fault, I am spoiled because your not so new card can't run the latest games.

Do you have a generic German car in your signature? ;)

As for running the latest games, I don't play any as the majority are rubbish. I think COD4 is my most up to date game, I'm mainly a WoW, EVE and Flight Sim (various flavours) player. :)

Wasn't aimed at you! Just look for the generic German rep mobile in the signature.

Ah well, guess its better than a Generic bus pass and generic brands of vehicles you don't own in YOUR sig :p

No need to get so hett up, it was a valid point - the 7900GS is a mid range card introduced based on technology thats what, 3-4 years old? To be honest the fact it runs the game properly at all is pretty good, I'd say the few bugs you get with it are a small price to pay. I'd suspect this is going to be quite the system hog.

Probably because some on this forum seem to think everyone has the latest cards - usually people who live with their parents and have cash to burn as a result - know anyone like that? ;)

I also suspect this game is going to have issues and perhaps run badly so I'm holding off from getting it until I get feedback from people who've tried it.

The apparent reports from one magazine that it barely managed 30fps on a GTX 280 don't fill me full of confidence but we'll see.

Serves you right for getting it on PC if you ask me as it is quite clearly a console game, Plays Perfect on my 360 by the way.

@Fox.
Dude how can I say this politely, O Yer, stick to Cars mate ;)

GTA was on the PC before consoles (the first two), and every version of GTA has come out on the PC and been the superior version thus far, both graphically and in terms of control. A keyboard and mouse is inherently better for this type of game than a pad.

Actually, GTA came out on PS1 before it came out on PC. PC one was much better though.

That's me told then a :p

I knew that anyway mate it's just that it plays so well on the 360 what with the controller an all.

Yes I know about using a 360 controller on PC, Before you start :p

Maybe it's just me that thinks that games like this should be played on the 360.

(Hoping enough people know my love for my system here rather than think I am just a 360 fanboy/grandad)

I used to be a 360 fanboy,Untill i moved to pc gaming,And pc gaming is way ahead in console gaming IMO.The amout of stuff you can do on a pc like modding your games is very good.I would never buy a 360 again as long as i have my PC:)

You don't know me or you wouldn't have written that & wasted 3 minutes of your life :p

Hate to correct you mate, but it was in fact released on the PC way before it reached any console, I remember it's console release when my friend got it brand new and I had already completed it and was waiting on the second PC release ;)

I waited for over a year for the first ever PC release after reading about it in a Nintendo magazine.

For aiming in this game, mouse and keyboard is a lot better for obvious reasons, no auto aim, less bullets, more headshots etc ;)

I bought myself a PS2 replica pad for my pc a year or two ago for the driving bits on the GTA games (I know it sounds daft switching mid game, but I can't drive with a mouse, just like I can't fly with a mouse either) as it's much easier to control, then you have the custom radio option of using your own mp3,wav files to make a complete radio station.

These graphics problems, I have been reading about them on some GTA forums, and it's worrying to see so many problems so close to release, I will be buying this as GTA is my favourite all time game ;)

@camdean
Can't disagree with you at all mate & think this is just one of those Locked in Personal preference discussions.
I am a Massive PC fan & only dabble with my 360 & there is No real reason I prefer to play these types of games on console.
Gutted for those that shell out though only to get crap performance.
