Your replies when your attempts at witty comebacks (OMG LOL HE LIVES AT HOME etc) fail are always comedy gold. Is that really the best you could manage?

No, but seeing that retarded error annoys me so I thought I'd try to educate you - you should thank me ;)

According to eurogamer it struggles on an 8800GTS 640 with a core 2....slightly worrying

Yeah...

I had to knock down the default graphic options quite a bit on my PC (dual-core 2.4GHz, 2GB RAM, 640MB GeForce 8800) until I got an acceptable rate, and even then there was the occasional really nasty drop. While my experience was more pronounced than most, speaking to other reviewers via the secret review-grapevine lead to confirmation that fiddling to get it playable was universal.

Hopefully it runs better on quad cores.

Also he says dual core 2.4GHz but AMD or Intel? It could be an E2220, E4600 or E6600 etc.

It is good that it comes with a built-in benchmark facility because it should be easy to work out what system you need to run it at at least 30fps average.

i dont see what all the fuss is about
me thinks most speedy c2d's will be fine
i have a 8500 and im not concerned

as long as it passed the minimum spec your laughing
im 1 bar off reccomended cpu
rockstar arnt going to make a game to run on quads alone
there are going to be people with quads and pooerer performing gfx cards, then there will be c2d's with better performing gfx cards
swings and roundabouts as my dad says

Pfft my PC will annihilate this game. Fact.

Going to buy on STEAM later unless I can pick it up from a game store down town on release day!

Does anyone know if the lower VAT is active on steam yet? I think it should come to £30 quid with 15% VAT on $40? I think!?

Well total after US TAX is $46.99 for non USA STEAM buyers, converted it's :

46.99 USD

=

31.2137 GBP
United States Dollars United Kingdom Pounds
1 USD = 0.664264 GBP 1 GBP = 1.50543 USD

It's £25 on UK game sites so I might just wing it this time and buy from those to save a few quid since there is no preload...

Assuming I can download at full speed if I order off steam it'll take me 4 hours to get. I'm thinking of just going down to the shop but wonder if they will sell out quick?

More expensive on Steam, you still have the same DRM and you don't get the map which you get with the boxed version, which is normally very useful in GTA games.
