Finished GTA4 on the PS3 months ago. Only GTA game I've completed. I'm going to wait for mods to come out for the PC version before buying it.
.
2.5GHz Opetron 165,
2GB PC3500LL Pro RAM,
8800 GTS 640MB OC.
I've been in the GTA scene/community for well over 8 years now and have messed about creating a couple cars etc along the way, made loads for GTA1.
Looks like I will need to rob the bank to get myself a nice upgrade so I can play this![]()
This HAS TO RUN SMOOTH on my rig with an E8500 @ 4GHz, if it don't then it's another ****** port :\
What are we calling low/mid range though.
I have a Q6600, 2GB of RAM and a 9600GT, is that a good system in your eyes or mid range?
i dont see problem how it will not run on that rig. ether if u use insane high res or your cpu at stock

I am thinking of selling my E8500 but am hoping that GTA IV will indeed run smooth on full.
it will, i just know it will WILL
good c2d and good gfx = good game
good quad and not so good gfx = not so good
there has to be a happy medium

I predict that dual core users will see a performance drop in this game with higher settings TBH!
like i said before
rockstar arent going to make a game targeting quadcore customers only, it would be a very silly thing to do.
the right combo of cpu and gfx card will work i think.
you get a user with a q6600 and a 8600gt
you get a user with a e8600 and a 4870 x2 or 280
who is going to have better gameplay ?
You hope..
I think it's possible that it may take advantage of more than 2 cores but hardly using the others. Hopefully a 4GHz C2D will certainly outperform a 2.4GHz quad in this..
EVERYBODY HOPES!!
