Grand Theft Auto 4

Those of you playing with keyboard and mouse, are you just moving the mouse too when driving to centre the view, or are you driving in 1st person?

I dunno what all the fuss is about. I am loving this game, and am having no issues what so ever, no crashes, no stuttering, nice and smooth. ;)

Hardware and screen resolution would be helpful to those of us who can barely run it.

As I just said in the GTA4 Performance Thread: -

I did just try the game at 1280x720, centred by my monitor, and it played nicely. It even let me select high textures (but not much in terms of draw distance etc.) and still ran nice and smoothly.

I think that this game is just seriously unoptimised for high-resolution gaming.

Native resolution is 1920x1200 on an E8400 (4GHz), 4GB DDR2-800 and 4870 512MB.

It's playable, on low-med depending on what distance settings I use. Low for multiplayer.

My settings are different to yours. I am playing at 1280x1024 60Hz on my 19" Monitor.

My spec's are Q6600 @ 3Ghz, 4GB Ram, 4870 512Mb GPU (cat's 8.10)

My game settings are as follows

Texture: Medium
Render: Very High

View Distance: 45
Detail Distance 100

Vehicle Density 60
Shadow Density 10

:)

A heads up, Nvidia have released a hotfix driver for it. :)
