very nice! Mine arrived today too, but I have to say, I was a bit suprised by how bright the bottom of the screen was compared to the top. I guess TN panels really show their rough spots on bigger monitors. The colors are really nice too.

Even though I bought a B-grade G24, I have noticed a hissing noise coming from the monitor since turning it on. I hope this is ok.

I will try and get some pics sometime :)

Edit: im guessing mine was considered B-grade because it came with no cables (which is fine) and the Acer disk was cracked, hence making it unusable. So i can't install the Acer ADM :(

cant say i notice much dif between top and bottom very slightly but cant really tell really is quite an impressive monitor though but then again ive been using a 27" TV as a monitor for the last two years :)

Is the Acer ADM software on the disk useful in any way? My disk was cracked when I recieved it, so I can't try it for myself. Is there anywhere you can download the software?

Ordered this monitor on the 26th.

Was told today that they no longer have any in stock and that my order would be refunded.

There goes my Christmas present.

Pretty annoyed. I had to borrow money from my parents just to get that. Money won't go into my account until the end of the week. So I can't shop elsewhere until then.

They didn't even apologize for their mistake of allowing me to order something they clearly didn't have in stock despite claiming at the time that they had two in stock.

First time shopping here and I highly doubt I will in future. Pretty much ruined my Christmas.

I can assure you we have plenty of stock and did at the time. Did you call or send a webnote? I'm off to bed now but will look into this tomorrow morning.

Yeah, there was only 2 b-grade G24's in stock according to the website, and I got one of them, not sure who got the other. Might have been Deadude.

Yeah, it hisses all the time, but appart from that, it functions fine. I have registered it with Acer, so if it dies, i'll just have it replaced. Judging by one of the addresses that was crossed out on the box, mine appears to have been a warranty return (possibly for repairs?)
Could explain the hissing...

Meh. Just really annoying how I got excited over finally upgrading for a 4 year old 17" which they no longer make to a very nice 24" gaming monitor. Only to kind of have that killed. Especially considering I'd been wanting to get it for about a month now.

I'm probably a being a bit excessive about it really. I mean it's only a monitor...

ahh I wouldn't judge ocUK on one bad experience, even if it is your first time shopping here. They're a good bunch, very good with faulty goods/returns etc. Give em another try, im sure you wont be dissapointed if they have the monitor you want, in stock :)

Well. At the moment. They don't.

I just don't like getting my time wasted and ending up disappointed.

Meh. I suppose maybe in future if they have a good offer on or something. But, at the moment after that experience. I'd just rather go for somewhere more local.

It's nothing personal or anything, but, this kind of first impression doesn't go well.

Ok after some fiddling, i think I found the best settings for contrast, and brightness (for me) which is contrast 20, brightness 50.

the backlight "gradient" is still very noticable on solid colors, like blues and greens.

oc'ers aint a bad company mate.

i'm sure Slackworth will look into it for you. just give him a day to find out some details.

got mine yesterday and going from a 19" to a 24" is unbelievable. the screen is huge. if i'd known just how big i may have gone for a 22".

the screen is top quality and no dead pixels :D

the colours are vibrant and rich once you set it up.

when i set up mine, after installing the acer setup things i did have diagonal banding of multi coloured squares:eek:
probably had about 150 of 'em on the screen at any one time
i thought i'd got a dud but after trying it on my old monitor it was the same so i knew the g24 was ok, just had a bad programme install

i had to uninstall my gpu driver and acer software and re install the lot before it all worked well

gotta say the metallic copper colour of the frame is funky, adding to the feel of quality of the monitor which it top notch.
