I don't know with that game but there's usually a config file somewhere you can edit and force a resolution.
 
Im wondering if many people play joint ops theese days, ive got it sitting here and im thinking of installing it again for a blast.

Thanks, I'll have a look in program files and see what I can find. I don't know if it's only a problem with GTX 200 series cards or something, as not every has this problem.

I have just this minute got multiplayer going and I'm amazed to see a UK server with 80/100 players in! It's pretty crazy, does seem a little laggy though. There also seems to be a few servers running mods for the game which might be worth checking out.
It is worth installing it for a laugh. JO is what got me into PC gaming. I remember playing it when the first BETA Demo came out. :)

I just need to get this screen res sorted out. 1024x768 on a 1920x1080 screen looks really pants. :(

80/100 thats pretty good even after all theese years, think i definitely will stick it back on again. That was always my favourite thing about jo, the large number of players.:)

Yeah I love the huge maps too.

I keep being kicked by PB because it is out of date but I can't update the PB files because pbsetup.exe doesn't list JO anymore...
I'm not sure how to update the PB files in JO. :(

EDIT: Got it fixed by using the pb folder from this forum; http://www.servercommand.org/punkbuster-joint-operations-t161.html?t=161

Black hawk down really was a great game. I had Joint Ops as well and loved playing on the 150 player servers. I was actually one of the beta testers for Joint Ops:Escalation and during the testing we had 250 people on one server with no dramas.

To this day I still wonder why no FPS have got anywhere close to those numbers, I'm sure there is a good reason but all these years later you'd think it'd be possible.
 
Ive just reinstalled jo but for some reason i cant get the game to update, just get the connecting to upgrade server message and nowt happens, ive unblocked firewall to allow connection but still no joy.:(
 
Oh i loved that game :D That got me into online gaming too! :p

LOVED Sniper maps ( IE just a huge desert w/ hills )

Sniping was fantastic on that game, you had to aim about a metre up on stupidely long shots :)
 
it was the original delta force that got me into online gaming :D

Had this game but then traded it in for the half life pack to get cs! May have to trawl though the bargain bins to get it again as it is a great game!

HAHAHA i see a few old faces already :D spook*f i was one of the original members after the UK version of viper squadron fell and merged into friction (if i remember lol)

stevieb yeah i remember you, hows it going? if i remember correctly you used to be partners or something with panther... how is panther not seen him around for years now.

hehe yeah even the internet is small eh? 7 years and going strong with NovaHQ, we're expanding this year with a new portal/network site so we can support more games Panth is ok, he's busy with work a lot of the time and infact has a life so he's not around as much as me haha :p

where you playing these days?
