January Transfer Window Thread - rumours and signings here

You're a small fish in a big pond. If the big boys want your players then they're going to get them.

I would have Jenas at sunderland...but not as a makeweight for Jones...the simple fact is we dont need to sell him, we dont need the cash, and whats the point of selling a players who is scoring goals to a team that has less points than us, Bents a decent enough player but is similar is style to Cisse..Jones adds something different to our attack we wouldnt be able to get a similar player to replace him at the moment so no amount of money will make the deal go through..the club has made that clear, but Redknapp does all his deals in the press...he needs to be brought up about it..the saggy faced git

sorry if posted before but Hull have signed Manucho on loan from Utd for the rest of the season (just waiting for work permit so he can possibly play tomorrow vs Arsenal)

According to Independant anyway

Very happy to see that, good club to get some premiership experience at :)

I think Rednapp is missing the point here.. Are players really going to join a club that is on the brink of relegation?

Well, you'd better ask Kaka that. :)

Glad to see cheets64 (no offense, mate) getting worked up about Palacios. I can't say I've seen much of him but if Wigan fans are upset then he's obviously a good player.

lmao, compared to Spurs, not exactly that big, how can you expect to be successful if you let go of talent at the sniff of a few £ signs.

You seriously don't consider Spurs to be a far far bigger club than Wigan?

How much cash does Bruce have to spend in this transfer window? You're going to have to buy atleast one striker in the next few months, and that's only if the new guy settles in well.

Everyone club around is spending and we are just sitting there like ducks, Southgate should atleast be bringing in some loans or we are definatly going down

Back to the Kaka deal, does anyone else think that he's not worth the money? I know the answer is yes obviously. But what I mean is, he's not even one of the best players in the world. I'd class him about the same standard as Gerrard. With Messi, Torres, Ronaldo, Xavi all on a different level. I've never saw what's so good about him and yet Man City are going to double the transfer fee record for someone who isn't even the world's best player, madness!

I think he's worth 30m at best, but because Milan doesn't want to sell him and this is the only way to make them sell the player. Anything less they'll just reject the offer outright.

Leeds chairman Ken Bates has rejected two bids from Barclays Premier League clubs for teenage sensation Fabian Delph.

The 19-year-old England Under 21 midfielder has been tipped for a move to the big time after breaking into the the Elland Road first team but Bates dismissed the bids and insisted Delph would remain at the club.

The former Chelsea chairman told Yorkshire Radio: 'We explained to both clubs that we don't deal in petty cash - they were Premier League clubs as well. We don't want to sell Fabian.

'He's happy, we're happy for him to stay and unless something unexpected out of the blue happens which we can't forecast we want him to take us back into the Premier League.'

Sounds promising, and Bates not mixing his words. That makes a change!

ffs, Whelan is a ****, whats the point in selling our best players, we have become a selling club

Become?

Wigan are a small town club, in a small town that is dominated by rugby. They're doing well to attract players that other clubs want.

According to Scolari on SSN, Kaka wouldn't be going to Man City for the money but for the challenge. LOL.

Man City official: So we heard Scolari's comments, you're not here for the money then?
Kaka: Nah, the challenge is more important to me.
Man City Official: Ah that's great, so we don't have to pay you 500k a week then.
Kaka: That's not strictly what I said, God is telling me to take the money!

Not going for the money, yeah right.

The thing that worries me is that it's another nail in the coffin of lower league clubs.

It's surely going to have a knock on effect across the board in the transfer market, making it harder for smaller clubs everywhere. But no one seems to care about this.....

It also is another step towards a European super league. :(

I will find it well amusing if he does sign for city and struggles to adapt to the premiership, which does happen. Even funnier if city got relegated after signing him, can you imagine Kaka playing against the likes of Doncaster, Blackpool and Plymouth, haha.

He's certainly on the same par as Xavi although they're pretty different players, Gerrard doesn't compare. He hasn't been his usual self the past year or so but the guy's a class act and is important to Milan as Messi and Ronaldo are to their clubs.

Of course he isn't worth that money though.
