Non-Christians have no morals

Yep they have morals alright. Stone, burn, hang heretics. If they had their way they'd do the same to homosexuals and scores of other scum represented in the bible. Your mate's a mucking fuppet, and do us all a favour and poke him in the eyes.

Christians have no authority to comment on morals, well no more than the rest of us who are of sound mind.

The majority of the population of the world have morality hard coded into their brain as proven by Marc Hauser. Religions just claim to have superior morals.

Everyone has authority to comment on morals, it's a free country.

As for Marc Hauser, his research is highly debatable. But let's just take it as a given for now, without a divine authority, there is no good reason why anyone should "obey" your "hard wired" morals.

Brilliant thing hes said about that before - "thats the old testement, we read the new testement so that doesn't matter anymore" lmao
And hes scared of gays, he ran away from one before, and I asked what he'd do if his son was gay and he said "we have ways of convert them" which worried me a bit!
He's always stealing peoples milk and ketchup too, surely stealing is against the teachings, and he lies all the time lmao
I'm getting off topic tho :p

Of course you do, if the only reason you follow your moral compass is to avoid punishment then well... I'd say my morality is superior to yours ;)

Discuss :)
My house mate just made a bold claim that non-Christians have no morals
The discussion started from this thread:
http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=17966588
In which I said its harsh to ask for Christians, who says they would be better than anyone else, and he said they have better morals like no swearing, no sex before marriage, and implied that non-Christians would be terrible for type of job...

Your friend is a bloody idiot. There is nothing else to discuss.

Arguably the only reason anyone follows "morals" is to avoid punishment.

My point was though that if you take out any divine authority, it isn't going to actually effect you if you break a "hard wired moral". I'm not talking about God punishing, I'm just talking about if there is nothing to decide what is wrong/right, then breaking a moral is not going effect anything, except maybe how you feel about yourself.

Unless of course breaking that moral causes you to get into trouble, hence my first point.

I can only think of two reasons to have "morals" if for the sake of argument we exclude a god. Either to make yourself feel better, or because it stops you getting into trouble, including punishment, such as prison etc.

I dont eat meat because I do not morally agree with it, it does not make me feel better or stop me getting into trouble.
