-== OcUK Extreme GeForce GTX 280 Amazing Deal! ==-

lol odd.

For me its DHL always deliever early morning if not before lunch time at the very latest. I prefer DHL about a million times better compared to City Link.

I still remember when I bought my Q6600 from here when it was City Link. I was watching TV in the living room waiting for it to arrive. I watch the City Link guy walk up to my door.... and just posted the "you wasnt in" note through the letter box. I let him get about 2 steps away from my door. Then opened my door and politely said you can knock on the door :p

Needless to say his face went bright red. He didnt say anything just gave me the parcel and ran to his van. I mean what the hell is that !

Anyways this is thread is meant to be about the awesome GTX 280's ppl have been getting not City link v DHL :p

I vote for City Link......:p

Bloody card wont fit on my M/B though. SATA ports are blocking the card :mad::mad: I dunno what to do.

8800GTX fits fine as the PCB isn't 100% Covered !

I got the BFG OC2 with FC2 and VAntage.

Should be fine if its in the top slot

Got the card fitted after ripping 2 SATA ports out.

What drivers are you guys using?

I just installed the GTX280 and for some reason the resolution is set at 800*600 on a 1920*1080 screen. :o

I've uninstalled my previous GTX260 drivers (can't remember the driver) but I thought it would work OK.

VERY pleased, today got the BFG OC to replace BFG OC 640MB:D
Stoked I got this with far cry 2 and the 'ion cannon' pen torch
Thanks ocuk:)

Hmmm... looking at the pics above, i do not know if i have mine powered correctly.
My HX620 has 2 Pci power cable which are 6 + 2 Pins. But they are fed from 2 x 6 pin connectors on the PSU. One to the 6, one to 8.
Should i be running the 8 pin socket off of both of these ( cable that came with the card ) and a seperate Molex to 6 pin cable for the other socket ?

Ok guy's, need a little help here im seriously thinking of buying this card but im not sure what to do yet, Here is my story.

i currently don't game at all on my PC but i still have some PC games (Call of Duty WoW, Crysis (and warhead), Fallout 3, Grand Theft Auto 4, Need For Speed: Undercover . i like to have full AA and AF on all my games, i currently have a 1680x1050 20" monitor.

Also Within a few months i will be moving to i7:

CPU: Intel i7 920
Motherboard: Asus Rampage II Extreme
Case: Antec 1200 (Already owned)
RAM: Corsair 6GB TR3X6G1600C8D

Before i was really keen on getting the 480x2 but after seeing this i am really tempted to get it now, judging by the games and res that i play at do you think this card can give me above 30fps on each of those games i mentioned?

I have 1 6Pin PCI-E from the PSU going into the card, and im using the 2 Molex to 1 PCI-E 8pin for the other slot.

Thnx for the feedback. Looks like i will have to do rewire ( and perhaps a re-jig of HDD's ) at the weekend.
I like to keep the cables tidy for better airflow...:)
Btw, i get 18178 3DM06 at default GPU clocks ( CPU @ 3.6G... :D )

You just need to connect both PCIe modular power cables from the HX620 without any further adapters. Just use the +2 for the 8pin and not for the 6pin. Ignore the fact the HX620 cables connect to a 6pin connector on the PSU. At the end of the day its what cables Corsair supply so I very much doubt they arent made for the job...

Unsure which GTX280 card you got but the BFG does have a led that goes green if you are supplying it the right amount of power and red if not. I would assume all other makes at least would give you some sort of windows message if it isnt being powered correctly (I know older nVidia cards did)

Considering you were tempted to get a 4870x2 but dont currently game on your PC a lot it kinda makes sense to me to pick one of these since theyll be cheaper than the x2 and if you dont end up gaming its not such a large wod of cash. Though I have to wonder if you need a extreme GFX upgrade if you dont game currently (though Im kinda in the same boat)...

ps3ud0
