Get your Smeg back on - Red Dwarf's coming back on TV!

Not sure I'm happy. I really loved the series and would love to see it back. But I think it's going to be poo. Hope I'm wrong.
 
The later episodes were gash compared to the earlier ones anyway, So it cant be much worse than how it ended last time.
 
bound to be rubbish, only the one writer came back. It was never the same since one of the writers left - they clearly needed both of them to be funny.

Even if they do mess it up it still carn't be as bad as some of the new stuff they're pumping out.

Right now I'm really enjoying the Likely Lads and the Brittas Empire on G.O.L.D

That quote sums up what made earlier Red Dwarf so outstanding. It's supposed to be a few mismatched people on a somewhat ropey ship. That's the core of how it was designed and how it works best. Starbug or the 3 million year old Red Dwarf with half-broken stuff. From my favourite episode, Queeg:

And Holly's "regime" was far better.

Of course it's ridiculous that any spaceship capable of interstellar flight and months or years at a time in space wouldn't have a multicoloured lighting system where it needed one. The idea that you'd have to change the lightbulb for a different colour one is utterly ridiculous...and Red Dwarf should be.
 
Really looking forward to seeing the red dwarf cast back together one last time, fingers crossed they do an outstanding job to a truly epic comedy:cool:.

ANother classic resurrected, and doomed to fail. I really don't know why people think stuff like this is a good thing... the series ended on a high and died a natural death, just like Blackadder. Now they're going to bring it back complete with an older cast who are no longer in the "swing" of things, and writers who are either inexperienced or rusty on the whole Red Dwarf vibe and will produce a decidedly unfunny script. Just like Blackadder.
