Ordered mine last night it's on it's way :) I was going to wait for the next GPU refresh and GDDR 5 offerings from nvidia, but for £215 and my 8800GTX dying I thought I would upgrade hopefully it's not too noisey and will overclock nicely.
 
Yeah I nearly got double upgrading from a GTX8800 guess it's a good rough stick in the sand target then for others :)
Getting P14832 in Vantage here using 181.22 drivers and Jane Nash's puppies jiggle well. Oh for Physx :p

Good deal for cards which cost £400 only 6 months ago, especially considering what's happened to Sterling.

It can surely only be a matter of time before GTX285 prices have to be brought down a bit, what with the GTX260-216 being £100 cheaper (or the 4870 1GB at £150 less)
 
Hi all

Got my 280gtx this morning but.... it only came in a jiffy bag and not in a sealed box! i bought it on wend when the stock was around 10+ still so could i have been sent a oem or a bgrade card by mistake? its a gainward card with the cd and a few dvi dongles!

if Yewen or someone could help that would be great!

That's the chance you take with this offer! it'll be fine though your just missing a box, Gainward didnt come with anything special.
 
As above, that was my understanding with the lottery offer. I would have thought the warranty is fine, but i am sure Yewen would have no issue confirming that.
 
ahh thank you LiamC... just noticed the same thing as well! i was going to get a 2nd card but not now.. i will give you a good price on the card and collect it too.. ;)
 
I'm confused now there is a two year warrenty on these card right? I would have thought you would need the box for proof of purchase to the manufacturer for that no? How does the warrenty work on these card is there no manufacturer warrenty is it just through ocuk?

See I cant do the whole 3D Mark comparison because its very close to my 9800GTX score because of a bit of CPU limitation in a way!

However when I compared it to GTA IV, Far Cry 2, Crysis, L4D I have to admit the card is quite ridiculous :D I feel like I'm back on the top tier performance wise which I havent since I got my x1800xt back in the day! :D

Though I wish BFG would hurry along with my RMA! :p

Warranty is fine on these, they are standard gainward parts and OcUK covers the warranty for 12 months as advertised on our website.
 
Well I received a Zotac GTX280 on tuesday and its been running fine since I installed it.
Only issue I had installing it was cabling related, as I finally moved my hard drives from the bottom cage into the Lain-Li EX-33, which made trying to get all the cables sorted in my PC-60 PLUS rather difficult.

I have noticed something strange though, when relaxing and playing some WoW with my friends when I alt-tab out of the game (full screen mode) it is pretty much instant like it was with my 2900XT but when I alt-tab back into WoW it seems to take atleast 5seconds before going back into the game. Is this a normal nvidia thing? as my 2900XT was usually only took 1-2seconds when alt-tabbing back into the game.
