**Official [OcUK] Quakelive thread**

its basically an overhauled quake 3, altough the actual game is the same

i run it fullscreen, you can use it in a browser but i dont see why anyone would uness they were at college or work or something like that

WTF! I need to play later at night me thinks. Signed on last night and it was ridiculous, although it does move fairly quick if you leave it and forget about it.

I have added the newest names to the friends list. Make sure you add people from second post into your friends guys so we can get an OCUK game going at some point!

To Frostednipple; the game is EXACTLY how it was if you might have owned Q3 back in the day. You have setting for resolution and fullscreen, etc. It literally jumps from your browser full screen to a real game, quite impressive stuff - much, much more complex than flash :

Also, to all those saying "My X2 laptop runs it well" I can't imagine much hardware going today that might have an issue with this at all. Even computers that are 5 years old should have no problems.

I was playing just 10 minutes ago, and the queue this time was 8! :D I think they have been drastically improving the queue length, but admittedly both those times were off-peak.

Edit: And a friend who played at the same time had a queue of 2, so almost non-existant really!

Well it's during working hours and early hours of morning for the yanks so I assume that's helping the load.

They might have increased server capacity since the weekend, who knows!? One thing will be good is that when it is all official and out of Beta stages it might be almost instant to play everytime!

I really want to organise an OcUK only game tonight to see how everyone fairs up! If anyone is interested please post :)

I have a problem at the moment where my "Auto detect skill" and "This game matches your skillset" is a bit off. Most of the time I wonder into the server and destroy them all and get to the FL.

Other times I join and get completley, royaly shafted and can't get higher than say 5th place. (All DM btw).

Also: Updated names onto the list!

I'd be up for an all ocuk game tonight, some time after 7:30 would be good.

It appears to have forgotten all my kills etc which is s shame as i had a couple of good rounds over the weekend. It should keep them no matter which char you play as shouldnt it?

Should do, but I think the stats are b0rked atm mate. None of mine show and says im on 0 for everything pretty much. I only have the one character!

(Unless it takes time to update?)
 
Was working now it bombs out (complete dead quit of either IE7 or FF to desktop) as soon as it's about to display the 3D stuff. I think it coincided with the install of ATI9.2 drivers so will try a rollback. Anyone else had this on XP32 / ATI4850 ?
 
Yes they disabled the stats tracking not long after the beta went public, I am guessing to try and relieve some stress on the servers, but they haven't gotten round to enabling them again yet. Once they do, it should mean the skill level matchmaking will become more accurate, which can only be good!

And I am also up for some OcUK Quaking tonight.
 
Sweet, we should try and agree a rough time given the fact we have to guestimate the size of the queues and how long we need to allow for everyone to get in!

I should be ok for around 8 for an hours gaming! I gotta go play LFD after that :D

In comparison L4D is a bit repetative atm, but Q3 is literally like a lightning bolt of speed compared to a mellow walk in the park killing zombies :)
 
They must have done something with the queue, as there is no longer one. Tried twice this afternoon and had no queue whatsoever.
 
I play as Rroff - tho I'm too impatient most of the time to wait out the queue and end up playing something else... hopefully they'll get that fixed as that is one of the biggest draws the game has going for it - the ability to jump in any time when you got 5 minutes to kill and start fragging stuff.
