HTC HD - you got one? what you think??

Nope, not from them as their offers still not the best.

Assuming we are allowed to post link, it's from dial-a-phone.

Register with Quidco if you don't have it so you can get £60 cashback to your account. I think it's around 30 days before it clears :)

Cool. :)

How do you go about flashing the phone with it? I've looked at the XDA-dev wiki but am still confused, how do I save the original ROM?

simply go to the ROM page, download the ROM, extract the package. Within the package, should be a wrapper (this app will take you through the whole process). in the case of Duttys, its called BlackstoneRUUWrapper (think this is the norm).

ensure your HD is visible in windows under activesync (or mobile center etc for vista). ensure its not seen as a portable drive, only activesync.

then literally once its recognised and you have over half battery life, load up the blackstoneRUUwrapper.exe. itll guide you through the rest.

fairly simple. as for backing up, im not sure, i never bother :p

Well just ordered mine today;

Dolphin £40 12 months as cheaper than 18 months for £30 :)
600 min x network + 500 texts
First 2 months half price
Free Phone
£60 cashback with Quidco :D

Can't complain :D

i had the same deal except with free data after 7pm and weekends.

cheapest deal out there i think? although orange have just introduced some new ones. prob not as good tho.

Actually £60 CB, I assume is Mobiles.co.uk?

its their mother company, dial a phone.

cashbackkings also do the offer aswell. £60 CB.

Expecting my Touch HD in the morning, just been looking at various apps to put on, tweak HD etc
Can I ask, what advantages does flashing the ROM give (appreciate thats a generic ROM question!)

Ta Dave

* Offered me HTC HD, 600mins, unlimited text, 250meg internet package for £24.47p for a 24 month contract. Phone is free.
*

Apart from the issue its a 24 month contract, i thought it was a good deal from Orange.

This thing has me tempted into returning to a contract phone...

is there something new due out soon that will be better or is now a good time to buy?

I'm not expert by any means, but it's a bit like any new technology, PC bits are a prime example

Is there something better just round the corner - ALWAYS !!
Is now a good time to buy - Is it ever :D

There is the new samsung with the OLED display which looks the dogs, but you'll pay for it.

I've fancied he HTC since it came out, mucked about, yes no, cant be bothered etc etc. Just got mine this week with a decent deal that i wouldn't have got when it first came out

Must say the Touch HD looks good!

As for people who are talking about Orange Upgrades....basically be firm, find a deal you could go for and watch them squirm to keep you! :)

I did this with my HTC Touch Diamond that I wanted....*wish I didnt tho*....and got my contract as following:

700 XNet Anytime Minutes
Unlimited Texts
250MB Internet which rolls over so I dont need any more
Free Phone HTC Touch Diamond (Back in August '08 now)

All for £22.50 a month :)

Opinions please, had my iPod stolen a few months back so I treated myself to a 32GB iPod Touch. Now my contract has expired on my n95 (Orange) and need a new phone. I was really drawn to the £44 deal for the iPhone and still very tempted. My current talk plan is Racoon 25 and im spending around £45 on average and the shocking fact is I get 225 minutes and 100 texts (x2 in fact, my phone is in her name and we on same tariffs) :) Didnt even realise this, I guess at the time it seems I badly wanted an N95.

Rang Orange for my PAC code and they offered me the exact same deal as o2 and the iphone, ie, 1200 minutes, 500 texts, unlimited data, same insurance as I have now and the HTC Touch HD for £48 for £35 which is inclusive of VAT. for 18 months. I like gadget phones but I need to hear a few more opinions of possible. May even try and get the phone for free as that was their first offer.

Just put on (or tried to!) a invisible shield.

By the looks of it I think it will do a good job of protecting the phone, without adding bulk. Having said that it was not easy to put on and by the looks of it I've made a pigs ear out of it
Will see, as the instructions say to leave it for at least 24hrs for the application liquid (distilled water I think) to dry of and the shield to stick properly

Got mine today, just need to find a list of the bests apps i can use. I also made a pigs ear of putting the screen cover on :o a few air bubbles here and there.

LOL, I've taken my invisible shield off, looked rubbish. Prob more down to me than the product :(

Mine despatched today and will get it tomorrow :D

Can't wait :p

I ordered invisible shield and will order Noreve or  (can't remember the name) case

What's a good video converter? i've been using biolsoft but all my vids are jumpy/behind but the audio is fine.

Got mine today and not as big as i thought :D

Still getting to know how to use it and gonna order sim unlock code.

Where's the best place to get this unlocked?
