I don't think the reason I got kicked makes a whole lot of difference tbh. What's important is what I can do now that I have been kicked out.

It makes all the difference. If you got kicked out for attempting to murder your mother then obviously, going back isn't an option. For virtually all other disagreements, going back is preferable to sleeping on the street.

Good luck mate.

My friend got kicked out, I moved out also and rented a house with him for 6 months. You must have some friends you can stay with, even if it is just to kip on the sofa until you can find something in your price range.

The main thing is you still have a job, unless you simultaneously lose both you are ok.

As I already said above, I'm in an internet cafe, which costs £1 an hour.

Your council will not house you because you are single and working.
The waiting list will probably be somwhere near 10 years, if you are lucky.

You can get financial help with rent and council tax.
You will have to ask the council about HOUSING benefit and COUNCIL TAX benefit.
You will then pay reduced rent and c/tax, depending on your income.

Look in local papers and go into newsagents to their advert board to see if anyone is letting a spare room.

You might have to put up with a hotel room for a few nights but it won't be hard to find a cheap room to rent somewhere.

Yeah, I'm hoping to do this. There is a staff house which costs around £80 per month. But I'm not sure if there are any rooms available in it (or if I qualify for one). But I'm working later today so I'll definately be asking about this.

Some people on this forum are real d-bags. Good way of showing sympathy to his situation, which in all fairness, isn't a great one to be in.

Hey, I got an idea; instead of trying to offer some advice to a friend in need, I'm going to berrate him with questions and opinions that are quite frankly formed with a lack of oxygen to the brain - because of the altitude on the high horse.

Anyway seek, as others have suggested, have you got any friends you can crash just over the weekend while you sort yourself out? Any acquantance would do, even family like cousins or Uncle's etc?

You need to get out of a hotel too if you can, if it's going to be like that you need to find a cheapo B&B to save some cash for anything more seriously needed.

You won't get sorted with any free house because you are actually working and doing things the way most proud people would.

Does anyone live in your area from these forums who could even help out? Just a thought...

I've been living in southampton for the last five years and only moved back up here recently. So the only people I know in this town are the people I work with, and I don't really know them well enough ask if I can sleep at theirs.

Shame it doesn't sound like I'll get any help from the council. Looks like the system is geared towards helping scroungers. :/

Anyway, cheers for the advise, fingers crossed I'll get into the staff house.
