Having no problems here with my Audigy 2 soundcard. Are you using the drivers from windows update with your Audigy?

32 bit here & using the windows update drivers. When I upgraded from 7000 to 7057 it did this until I did the below.

Device manager > uninstall the driver & tick "delete this driver" > restart your comp & try downloading them fresh from windows update.

Been fine since, I think it got bugged out on the upgrade.

All installed and working sweet! :)

Lol just downloaded 3D-Mark Vantage, not seen it yet! :o

Now how can I get the Aero thing working? I thought I could get a 3D-view of all my open windows?

Installed Windows 7 beta today on my laptop and it's running great. I had to download the synaptic drivers but that was it. Really taking a shine to it, especially the task bar area although it's taking a bit of getting used to.

Seems a smaller install size to Vista, or is that just me?

Yup the new taskbar is awesome, very well suited to the multi-taskers who like to have a ton of windows open at once. I'm pretty obsessive compulsive and have nearly always closed up spare windows I'm not using anymore however with the new taskbar it seems that may change, if the system can handle it then having things *open* kinda makes sense!

I used Acronis home to backup my Windows XP install to the spare data drive in each machine then installed Windows 7 fresh onto the 80GB system drive in each machine, followed by a Acronis backup just after boot and registration, that way I am able to totally carve-up Windows 7 trying different things out (drivers etc) without any worries. During the day I'm back to XP then nights I restore the fresh Windows 7 and go back to work.

I see that the Beta doesn't expire until August 1st 2009 . . . . sweet!

TBH it's good enough for me to use right now, I just have the problem of being a hardcore Outlook Express users with an archive going back 5 years and I also make heavy use of Microsoft Office 2003. If I can work out a way of porting my mail archive over to Windows 7 and getting a new version of Office then I'm set! :)

Looking around the W7 forums, quite a lot of people seem to have had problems with their Wi-Fi drivers. Have you updated to the latest drivers from the manufacturer's website, not just stuck with those given via Windows Update?

I'm sure it's been posted in here already. But is there away to get windows7 taskbar more like vista. with separate quick launch and open tabs.

After a few days I'm really liking the new task bar. just goes to show try new things of ra few days before you decide to remove it.

I'm glad you're liking the new taskbar, but if you still want to know how to change it to look identical to Vista (smaller, includes quick launch etc etc) my email's in trust. I'll link you to a screen-shotted "how to" thread I posted on another forum. Bit long to reproduce here again, especially if you don't want it any more! :p:D
