Resident Evil 5 - The Source of All Evil (360 & PS3)

I've played all the resi's over the years and from experience I would normally examine the item (treasure) and if it seems like it can attach with something else, I would keep hold of it. Only becuase you can sell it for a lot more later. From the ones I've collected so far in re5, I'm pretty certain they are just there to be sold so you can get money to upgrade your weapons.

Even when you sell them, they still remain there showing in your inventory, so it still keeps a record of everything you have collected. :)

I don't think there's even an option to combine treasures in RE5.

Just sell them. It's the only purpose they have. :)

upgrade which ever you want, i upgraded the ones i came across first

*little spoiler i think*

if you do that, you get to unlock more weapons

edit - just finished it all on co op also :D

That's actually quite surprising, yet also quite tasty! Thanks chaps.

i did a lvl with a random dude, i got a SIG MG and an AK74 cos he was playing through 2nd tie with a magnus! i also got 20+ k in treasures, so well worth it for the half hour or whatever i spent.

But as i said it lost track of where i was upto in my own game - i was mid level, so i had to completely restart that area again. wasnt happy because it was the lantern mission. Id finsih a mission THEN go looking to join someones Co-Cop next time..

I'm sure most people are aware of this, but it caught me out, I was 3/4 through chapter 2-1 (I think) and decided to see if I started a previous chapter via the Chapter Select screen would I keep all my current weapons/items/ammo etc, and yes you do.

However, it also boots your previous save game back to the beginning (as above) so I lost my 3/4 save and had to start that level again. Not the end of the world, cos I just collected everything again and had even more than I did before that :)

Resi 5 > Gears of War 2

This game is seriously fun, however I'm dying for an original resi experience so I'm going to play the first on my Wii when I've completed Resi5. I also think it's a bit short (might be because they got rid of the back tracking).

Sadly, It doesn't feel scary anymore. I've just gone through chapter 5-1 and I really wanted more of this in the game.

Yep thought so, I've just started this so wasn't sure if it was the same as with RE4. But yeah I've been selling everything between chapters and upgraded the guns as much as I can.

I'm somewhere mid-way through chapter 3 now, will continue tomorrow.

So far, I'm not as hooked on it as I was with RE4 but nevertheless its still not bad, a lot better then the impressions I got from the demo.

OK, thanks for the tips guys.

I'm on level 4-1 so far I think, and I've not sold one single piece of treasure yet, and I've enough for many tens of thousands worth of credits. I've upgraded my guns as much as I could, just by the gold I've collected, but being my first Resident Evil game (since the PS1) I wasn't sure whether to keep the treasures or not. I was keeping them all this time, in case I got some kind of reward at the end, and had planned to play it through again, and play it differently.

Now I know I can sell them all, and get all this moolah, I'm gunna go mad upgrading some guns next time I play it.

I have been upgrading the standard pistol, and I find it quite effective, it's got me to 4-1 anyway, that and the shotgun and rifle. I got the magnum during level 3, but never found any ammo for it, so when it ran dry, it was useless, and I died, and then changed back to the original pistol again.

So, next game I shall have a play about, and upgrade the pistol, rifle and shotgun.

I'll be playing it through a second time anyway, I have to say I'm really enjoying it, and having a hard time putting it down.

Vin.

I'm having a REAL hard time to kill the boss.
The one with flamethrower, tips? :/

I always run out of bullets then ur just stuck! :\

SPOILER**************

Shoot both its arms off, then grab the flamer and give it some serious fire action.

It'll then go into the ground and re-grow its arms when it does this replace the flamethrower so it re-charges, shoots its arms off... flame etc.

Rinse and repeat.

All of Chapter4 is superb graphically. Capcom really have done a great job here. Shame some of the other levels were a little less amazing looking. On my 3rd run through now.

No way anyone gets 1000GS on this without playing it for a good 50-75 hours +. Its designed so that you need multiple playthroughs to unlock all the extras. Saw a load of UK people last week on leaderboards who had 1000GS but must be pirates as on the day of release the online game leaderboards were full of UK gamers with 1000GS:rolleyes:. Japanese users I can accept as they got the game on 6th March which is why they currently dominate the leaderboards but UKers on 13th with 1K GS is very suss:rolleyes:

Mercenaries mode is a good way to earn the exchange points you need to buy infinite ammo and the other extras to unlock all the gfx mode filters & costumes. Only managed to get into top 14K worldwide so far with 67 kills as its pretty tough to get a Rank A or higher:eek:

Magnum fully upgraded is a very powerful weapon and takes out anything except bosses in 1 or 2 hits (Dirty Harry would love it;)).

What's the best way to make money that people have found? A few ways i've found are;

SPOILERS ******************

- Running through chapter 4-1 and killing the bug thing at the end, collecting all the treasure nets you around 40K'ish

- Running through chapter 5-3 and ending the fight with Wesker early, this nets you around 60K per run ... but takes a little bit more time!

I realise there is a way to glitch the eggs and duplicate them to make money, but i'd rather not bother with doing something like that, and get some more life out of the game yet :)

I use option one McBain, takes 15-20 mins and nets the stated amount, best thing i have come up with some far unless you use the item dupping on rottens
