Resident Evil 5 - The Source of All Evil (360 & PS3)

I understand that if you fully upgrade a weapon you can get unlimited ammo for it, is that right?
Can I use that weapon with unlimited ammo with a new game playing on Veteran or Pro?

Yep, once you fully upgrade a gun you can purchase the unlimited ammo from it through the bonuses (using the points you gain for completing stages).

Then you can on unlimited ammo when you start playing.

I've not tried but I'm fairly sure you can use unlimited ammo anywhere. Can someone confirm?

Depends on the weaponry you have I guess. If it's your first run through just run away, and he leaves you be after 7 minutes!

If you're playing a re-run with better weapons, run away and he will say something like "There's no point in hiding" or "You're prolonging the inevitable" .. this means you've lost him, and he can't see you. Either hide up against a wall (X on the xbox) and when he comes down the corridor towards you jump out and hit him a few times (preferably with the magnum) ... you can only get 3/4 shots off and then he starts dodging again. So run away, rinse and repeat or run around behind him and shoot him from the rear!

After about 15 shots or so he will crouch down on one knee and run off.

Yes, you can.
 
This game needs a human teammate as much as online shooters like CS, TF2 and L4D needs humans rather than bots. Really quite average in single player - worse than RE4 due to ropey friendly ai - and totally superb in co-op with a friend.
 

That's what I've been doing mostly. :) But I'm running out of Magnum ammo too quickly and having to resort to weaker weapons.

I think I'll leave this for the moment and go play mercenaries until I can afford the points to get infinite Magnum ammo. :)

Does anyone know if you can use the infinite ammo on Mercenaries mode. Say you get it for the shotgun and pistol does it let you use it on there or not?? Just trying to figure out how some people have over 300K :eek: on mercenaries leaderboard when I struggle to get 38K :(

Sounds like a good idea tho lol

As per teh previous games I've kept plenty weps/ammo on me but Im now at the point I need more room.

Is there anyway to move tehse weapons to the inventory screen mid levels or do I have to sell them ?

I currently have pistol,magnum,auto shotgun, sniper rifle.
Sheva has, rifle,pistol,mp5

Did'ny realise ammo was gonna be so rare for the better weapons and so plentiful for the pistol :/

Really dont want to sell the weapons tho as cash is tight atm.

Which is best section for farming cash? Think im upto chpt5 :/

I was looking at Gamefaqs at a big discussion what the best place was and it's either 3-1 for ease as you can get a few thousand without spending ammo and the other option is 5-1 or 5-2 but this requires ammo, a good gun and access to chapter 5 but the rewards are much higher.

But if you have access to chapter 5, a good gun and plenty ammo I guess you don't need a lot of gold.

I am only at 2-2 so I guess I will see what 3-1 is all about, is it only the beginning, quit, save and do 3-1 again?
 
Anyone fancy playing though this co-op on PS3?

I did up to the first boss with my mate and playing alone after that just isn't as good.
 
with the farming malarkey am I right in thinking if I grab the expensive bits, then restart mission I have tehm to sell?

Or is it pickup / die / reload ?
 
I pretty much ran the game with;

Chris - Pistol, Shotty, rifle and Magnum (used only for Bosses/Hard enemy)

Sheva - Pistol, Machine Gun and Herbs x 2

Pretty much yeah. You keep within the first boat area of 3-1, grab all you can, save and quit. Repeat.
