"Perfect" albums

It also annoys me when people call the latest albums of great bands that aren't as good as their first couple albums utter trash. Arcade Fire and Killers for example.

They may not be as good as the previous albums but they are still miles better than the conventional chart album releases.

The thing is I (and many other people) think Funeral and Hot Fuss are brilliant albums in their genre, and see much disappointment with their future releases. I like to think Funeral was great because it was recorded at Hotel2Tango but is more likely just a one off from the band. The Killers seem to think that Sam's Town was progression but I see it as though it is like any other indie album and lacks the something that was in Hot Fuss.

Well people like Bob Dylan, David Bowie, Bruce Springsteen are considered greats yet in my opinion the majority of their music is totally mediocre, and I don't think they've made a single perfect album, yet they have a good many all-time classic songs. If they'd released all their classic songs on one or two albums, and that's all they ever released, they'd still be all-time greats IMO.

This thread does lie with personal opinion and there is not one song on either of the two albums that i dislike and would not listen to, i just hope that Be Human will be as good as the first two.

Another vote for Ryan Adams - Hearbreaker, and Radiohead - The Bends

Hot Fuss is a good call, but unless i got a cruddy copy, i find the poor recording quality to be offputting, perfect tunes and flow to the album though.

A few additions:

The Beatles - Sgt Peppers
Ben Folds - Rockin the Suburbs
Antony and the Johnsons - I am a Bird Now
And a few recentish albums:

Beth Rowley - Little Dreamer
Emmy the Great - First Love
Vampire Weekend - Vampire Weekend

I have a vinyl copy of it and it is not pop manufactured perfect quality, but I like that. It feels real and gives it atmosphere.

Radiohead - The Bends
Oasis - What's The Story (Morning Glory)
Portishead - Dummy

They're the only ones I can think of which I haven't got bored of listening to any of the songs.
