HTC HD - you got one? what you think??

simply go to the ROM page, download the ROM, extract the package. Within the package, should be a wrapper (this app will take you through the whole process). in the case of Duttys, its called BlackstoneRUUWrapper (think this is the norm).

ensure your HD is visible in windows under activesync (or mobile center etc for vista). ensure its not seen as a portable drive, only activesync.

then literally once its recognised and you have over half battery life, load up the blackstoneRUUwrapper.exe. itll guide you through the rest.

fairly simple. as for backing up, im not sure, i never bother :p

Need to flash with HSPL first :)

I just phoned up Orange to ask for a PAC code, and explained that I had ordered a contract through mobiles.
They managed to change my mind, as they got some online sale going on at the moment, so for £24.46 p/m I'll be getting the phone through the dolphin35 18 month contract (600 min/unlimited texts),
I explained that I was going to try and get O2 to change unlimited texts to data, so they just threw in 500megs of data too. I wasn't keen on the redemption idea anyway so I'm glad this came up.

The sales guy who I was put through to after speaking to retentions sent me a HTC Touch 3G :o I will be ringing returns up in the morning, as instructed by retentions :) should be interesting, will I get the phone I was promised, we'll see.

Update: They are swapping it out for me :) although, they said I shouldn't have gotten this offer.

Does anyone know how to change the analogue clock at the top back into digital mode. I was messing around with it over the weekend and changed it and now i cant get it back to digital?

Just ordered one of these from carphonewarehouse website.

Not sure what their credit check proceedure is but It hasn't said I can't have a contract and I have a 'good' credit rating :).

Hopefully I will get a confirmation email at some point soon.

Went with Orange because I am already with them (coming up to end of contract but this one isn't in my name) and the girlfriend is with them so unlimited texts and magic numbers is all I need!

What's a good video converter? i've been using biolsoft but all my vids are jumpy/behind but the audio is fine.

I use PocketDivxEncoder and play the files in CorePlayer.

Encoding settings are as follows:

Load the HDTV preset from the first menu.
Set quality to 70.
Set sound to 9 (max).
Resize, and (keep proportions constrained) set the horizontal res to 400.

I've watched loads of series (currently Heroes Season 3) with these settings on my Xperia and they look great!

I'm off to europe tomorrow and taking the HD with me. As it seems to have serious issues obeying commands to switch off the data service I assume I just need to remove/change the username in the data setting to cut all data transfers and not incur stupid charges?

Thanks for the info. :)

Just put the latest winmo 6.5 on from xda developers. It's wvga native now and is very fast and smooth. It rocks in fact. Proper menus and splashscreens etc.

Gotta love the rom cookers for this phone.

May I ask exactly which ROM you put on? Thread link plz? ;)

Also, I was wondering exactly which instructions you followed to achieve this? I really don't wanna brick me phone hehe :D

Im looking to install Winmo 6.5 also, anyone got a guide as to how?

I've recently put Miri's 6.5 on mine, memory use has been as low as 33% :D
Its all detailed in the Wiki at xdadevelopers how to go about flashing it:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Blackstone

But tbh, I wanted something a bit more step-by-step to assure myself, so then I found this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3496968&postcount=8

Then it was just a case of trying a few ROMs and finding what works for me, theres many of them here:

Thinking of trying out Davideuck's 6.5 soon though.

did any of you perchance find a wm6.5 ROM that has RemoteTracker built into it with customisable settings?

It'd be nice if my phone could be tracked down in the event it is stolen, even after it has been hard reset, so long as the thief doesn't flash it with a new ROM (which won't be likely as if he has those skills he'd be intelligent enough to find a real job) :)

just updated to duttys 2.7 XTREME now, just omg :D and i thought 2.2 was good!

bit of a pain with USPL etc but my god, love it! :D
