what do you do and how much do you earn?

I design the sounds that you hear. Specifically I came up with the distinctive spring tree rustle, the sound of a babbling brook; and more recently a new type of moan.
I earn £1m every minute, and smoke special cigarettes that don't give you cancer.
:D

CNC operator/programmer (structural steelwork), just had my P60 for tax year, £24.5k. Can earn £30k plus if I do loads of overtime. But I can't usually be arsed ;)

Teachers moaning about their wage.. enjoy your easter hols then count down until your summer ones, mind you there's probably a couple of days off in between too..

I.T. folk - remember the average is £36K or something according to adverts on telly!! Why are you not all earning over this! lol :P

Senior I.T. Advisor, 10 years experience - Decent amount, not as much as the claimed average I.T. salary yet though! Can't say I work by backside off though, so no complaints.

I am overpaid for what I do. :(
I lift Kilos & Kilos of produce throughout the night when everybody else partays, I work like a Donkey pulling coal from a mine, I have to put up with all sorts of rules & regulations & work to a very strict handbook, My head gets completely ****** & I end up like a Zombie most of the time.
I do all this for six shillings & six pence a month.
Like I said I am paid far to much. :D

Actually, out of curiosity, anyone here who would have studied mechatronic or automation engineering what sort of starting salary were you on?

Will be studying to get an MEng at least, possibly further depending on how I feel about a few more years of college at that point.

My girlfriends a teacher and she works pretty much flat out as soon as she gets back from school. She has to do all of her lesson plans, marking and various other crap, still it gves me time to play on the PC though :D

Once I get my next Cisco qualification I should be aiming towards 40 :)

Ok I will will elaborate on my con man role.

I came over here in 2001 to claim political asylum, since coming to the great UK I have not worked a day in my life, I get in the region of £50k a year in benefits and my 'wife' gets roughly £20k. We have no children but are considering having three or four as the increase in benefit will pay for a new car!

Life is good. Thank you UK.

Used to be a field technician for BT earning about £22k, currently in my second year of Uni earning zero and trying to survive on my ever-dwindling redundancy money from BT. Unless the economy picks up I'll probably end up working for less than I got at BT once I graduate.

I am a part time tesco work and student. £3792 a year. I don't do overtime, ever.

I don't get ema either, apparently my parents are amazingly rich and pay for my college stuff, not.

Those hols will be spent marking coursework and planning the next stage. (My wife's head of department at an inner city school; she usually works deep into her term holidays).

Teachers' holidays sound great until you realise how much they work out of hours.
