Yes I do know what i'm talking about, i've followed football obsessively for 20 odd years and played footy games since kick off way back when. I know what i'm talking about. Like most of the drivel passed off as gaming spouted out by EA, Fifa is rubbish, just a little kiddies game now designed to be a platform for selling add ons every so often.

I kind of agree where you're coming from but I think you'd have a lot more success with saying your piece if you didn't include the insults.:)
 
I don't care how good it is I am never buying one of their games ever again after being suckered in to 2008 and 2009 which they did absolutely nothing to try and fix.

Fifa 09 is PLAYABLE online, pes2008 -2009 are not, it really is that simple.

Whats the problems offline though? I play my mates all the time on it, just because FIFA is a bit harder to play when hammered it doesn't make it bad.

Credit when due though, ANYONE can pick up PES and be good at it. That;s FIFA's downfall, you have to practice to actually be good at it.

Perhaps you're on to something there; maybe it's a time thing. I admit not having a lot of time to play games these days - the pick up and play style of PES is appealing. FIFA always felt like a slog and no matter how much effort I put in it wasn't ever rewarding.

I played fifa, thought it was as generic, soulless and bereft of gameplay as most of the other fifa's. End of. PES is by no means perfect, but is the better footy game, unless your idea of a decent footy game is based around how many licenses a game has.

it has a major hurdle to get over in that it looks like a turd quite frankly. no matter how good / fun you think it is and the online aspect is ******.

if they can get over those facts and i do think its a big IF then maybe they can recoup some of their fans but i do suspect most have gone to fifa and are quite happy with it.

the rest of the stuff ie : names etc are just bonus's but i dont think they make people's minds up.
 
You really don't get it do you ? all us people playing fifa09 on xbox live were pes players ? I played pes6 from day of release online until the day the servers shut down.I played it since the ISS days on snes and loved pes 4 5 6 fully modded up etc etc.

But the last two games have been dreadful buggy online and offline bad animations poor graphics and sound broken keepers I could go on and on.

This is how I see it, fifa is turning in to pes and pes is turning in to fifa.

I'd hazard a guess that most of the fifa09 naysayers haven't even played it on xbox 360

Seriously he did this in the GTA4 thread, he's just a troll. He writes his opinion as fact then attacks anyone else who dares to disagree, then gets all defensive and accuses people of personal attacks. Pity, I thought the standard of posting had increased on here lately :(
