NEC LCD24WMGX3 Professional Gaming 24" Widescreen

Thanks :) Let us know if you get any problems.

If you post in the customer support forum we can get your issue resolved quickly. We don't always look at every single post in these hardware threads because there is so many. If you post your problems in the CS forum, we can deal with them straight away.

Tell me, why in several forums are people reporting they they have received their monitors with boxes that have been previously opened?

So could that be where a scratched monitor has come from?

It could have been...

The best thing to do when you receive a new bit of hardware, is too inspect it, and if it is damaged in any way just send it back for either a refund or (new) replacement..

Well of course the intitial inspection is how the scratch was picked up. I have had it collected, but it's such a ridiculous process to get things picked up. Have to fill out an RMA, which I have, and then it's weeks until one hears of anything. I paid for Saturday delivery and I bet get my replacement in the week.

Again, it's best to get in touch with NEC directly, you don't have to fill anything in and they send you a new one out BEFORE they collect the old one, this means no downtime, they also arrange collection/delivery for you :)

Well just setup 2 of these beasts and wow!!! Well impressed. I put one up next to the Benq FP241w and it seem just as good if not better, so I am happy I went for this screen.

Now it also looks like my 2 boxes were openedand retaped up, so that worried me a bit. I was praying that these 2 didn't have any dead/stuck pixels as I had one on the Benq. Soooo I must be the lukiest girl on the planet lol as both monitors have no dead pixels or stuck pixels :D I tested using Dead Pixel Buddy and on all of the colour screens I couldn't see any :)

SO if there is anything anyone wants to know etc then fire away. Oh I also love the remote, especially as I can control both monitors at once lol.

If you get no luck with Ocuk it would probably be worth calling NEC UK mate, they have given me and some others here really awesome customer service recently, can't recommend this course of action enough

They've sorted some out that OCUK wouldn't

08701 201160 for the UK number

Thanks mate, i will go through NEC as it's quicker to get a replacement unit (advised by OC themselves). Will update with experience.

Hansolo,

Dont send the monitor back to OCUK
phone NEC tech Support.

if you explain to them the problems you have being 4+ dead pixels ect im sure they will replace it with a brand new model useing there awsome service they send you the replacment in advance then the next day they pick up the broken one. ;)

also tell them you want them to check for backlight bleed and dead pixels before the replacment model gets sent out to you ;)

they will do it and you will end up getting a awsome monitor though the post :D

Thanks mate, will do :)

Any1 can tell me if the nec is a better choise instead of an Dell 2408WFP A01 ?

my uses are PS3 , TV , office and photoeditting

Im my personal opinion the nec is much better, i had the dell ao1, twice! and the nec which i have now is awesome :D

I've had my replacement today. So far there appears to be three dead pixels. One is rather odd though, shows up as a green spot, so perhaps a frozen pixel? I'm dissapointed really, never expected such poor show from NEC.

No I didn't ask them to check. I'll ring them, but I have a funny feeling that NEC has a suprisingly high tolerance of 5 dead/stuck pixels before they will replace.

1 dead pixel near a corner would be fine by me but 3 would be unacceptable, phone NEC again and ask them to collect and do a pixel check before they send out a replacement. You're paying a lot of money so are entitled to expect a better service from NEC.

Yes I checked NEC's site and this monitor is class 2, so conforms to the minimum requirements shown above. Ant1981, I would still contact them because yours is right at the margin of ISO standard, a replacement might be a little better.
