Demigod by Gas Powered Games (SupCom)

best £26 ive spent in beards, this game is so addictive and fun.. i havent tried the online mode as we all know it has teething problems but i prefer to play vs AI until i know the basics.. afterall i dont want total spankings vs real players when i dont know what im doing...

played for about 10mins, seems good but dont know how long will last. runs smooth tho full res/ graphics full demi gods so seems well made
 
what's this impulse thing ,like? is it like steam where i can re download at anytime any number of time or is it more like ea's one with limited downloads?

Its like steam, but with integrated IRC. Also, you don't actually need to have Impulse open to play games, just to download and patch them. Though I think that some games in the future will use Impulse for online gaming, so you'll need it running then.

cool so there's no time limit like Ea's one? If i buy it now I'm not going to find in 6-12 months that i have to pay again if i want to reinstall ?

A distinction needs to be made here. Even if something might *run* in Windows 7 does not mean it is *supported* in Windows 7. If you try to install something via Impulse on your Windows 7 machine, it will stop you.

from one of the Stardock people. anyone had demigod instaler/impluse block the install on win 7?

Tefal let me know how you get on, I don't mind multiplayer but also love single player modes on games like this and think I'd miss it!

Shame there's not demo, or is there? :P
 
Freaking awesome game! I'm loving it so much :D

At first, when you don't fully know what you are doing it seems a bit meh but once you have worked out a decent spec for your character and know which items to buy it's brilliant!

The battles can be so epic!

EDIT: To the above guy, it's nothing like SupCom really.

As a little tip, try to spend as much of the early game as you can getting experience and gold because your Demigod is pretty weak at first. Once you start getting spec points allocated and have purchased smart items you become a right beast.

glad to hear you got it sorted uv.

I've played a few games online and gotten more used to what to do. This game is really quite addictive and loads of fun once you get it figured out.
 
Just had an epic 10 player conquest game, lots of fun and some decent back and forth action also.

For my first few games I was ready to quit after coming up against the Torch Bearer demigod quite a few times, when people spec him with AoE and fireball he's a beast. Especially on the smaller maps and he eats up your AI soldiers you generally can't get near and get any XP from enemy mobs when he's fighting with them. I mostly play with the Light version of him, The Oak now :) well sort of, Torch Bearer is an Assassin and Oak is a General.

The vampire guy is great also, very quick to start with. As speed is very important with hit and run tactics seemingly being the most popular.
forum clan when that feature gets going maybe?
