**Summer Transfer Thread: News, Rumours and Speculation**

obviously i disagree about Eboue, after a fantastic performance midweek where he created 2 of the goals with both passes to Theo, he somehow got the blame for being between the goal and Malouda, apparently a good defender will stop every single ball passing around him in that situation.

he was lazy and got punished, it was CRAP defending no matter how much you would like to share a bed with Eboue.

fair play for his assists midweek but what about most other games when he wastes 19/20 chances through kicking the ball into the stands - even a blind dog finds a bone now and then.

anyone talking about deadwood at arsenal, sheesh Eboue rotted away years ago he's only still there because there is little money to spend & Wenger is a tight fisted french ****.

Haha how is drunkeniwatchadifferentarsenaltotherestofyou even beginning to defend Eboue for the Semi Final blunders :(. What's wrong with you dude :(.

I reckon Sendoros will be recalled from Italy now he seems to be playing fairly well. This season has shown us that we need another centre back. Plus the fella is huge and could manhandle some of the more powerful strikers.

Yup. Be interesting to see what happens with him.
I actually kind of miss him - definitely prefer to see him in the side than Sylvestre.

Annoys me no end this does. I'm not kidding, we were linked with over 150 players last summer, they were counting on the avfc website. MON will buy some half decent 22/23 year old for £3m, stick him in the reserves, give him a meaningless UEFA cup game and let him hang around for years until he's any good.

If we want top 4, we NEED to buy quality.

Can we limit drunkmaster to 50 charactrers per post? No offence fella, but you go on WAY too much.

I'm pretty sure that Villa were amongst the highest net spenders in Europe last summer...

Wouldn't say he's worth that much of a risk.

I wouldn't either. I could write a rant of drunkenmaster proportions about his actions but can't be bothered. He's done bugger all this season (mainly as he's been injured) and in most of the games he's played in he's looked disinterested. To say he deserves to play for a better team is an insult considering that two years ago he was rotting in the reserves and Bayern and we were the only club who would give him a chance. I just live in the knowledge that most of the players that have left Blackburn seeking "champions league" football have fallen flat on to the subs bench.

They were the biggest net spenders in the Premiership, or at least they were before Man Utd bought Berbatov.

I think Utd sold Pique and some kids netting around £10m or so - and I can quite easily see MoN spending £20m + to outrank Utd

The (obvious) reason why MoN /AV still cant really compete is that of course Utd and Chelsea (and Liverpool to a much lesser extent) can pay for one player, what most of the rest of the league pay for 2 or 3

The obvious reason for me would be club stature. Getting a player like Kaka to Man U would be far easier than it would to get him to Villa. Clubs that aren't recognised on both the European and World stages have trouble attracting those big names.

That said, I also agree with your point about the larger budgets of certain clubs.
