I've lost all respect for the military.

Having a scrap is one thing but kicking a man in the head when he is on the floor is just going to far even for petty rivalry, what a way to end your army career and spend years in prison and live with the fact you killed a man.

They've most probably killed many men...

Try not to generalise.

You could also claim to have lost all respect for humans, men, white people, people who wear shoes etc etc.

if i have done my job properly, you will see more of this in the future

Most 'other ranks' in all the services are pretty much made up of the dreggs who couldn't find a job in civvy St or kids who want to get away from home ...... they are not clever but some of them are big ;)

Accordingly, given large amounts of booze and the 'esprit d'corps' mentality, they **** up bars and towns all over the world; if they're not fighting a real war, they'll invent a reason to fight the locals or each other anyway ... pretty much like chucking out time on a weekend in most large British cities.

Youngsters today eh?

Rubbish. There are troublesome individuals within the 'other ranks' but these are the minority. Line regiments tend to get more than the average due to the nature of their war role. On the whole, the young men who make up the 'other ranks' are decent, honest professional people. This was definately a distasteful episode, but don't tar all young servicemen with the same brush.

I haven't read the thread so I'm not sure if it's been said but - what a stupid thing to say.

This, if your job is to serve and protect Queen and country but you go out and get drunk and kill a fellow countryman what the hell is going on, A lad I went to school was a marine and he was killed in Afghanistan and he never went out and battered or killed anyone.

My girlfriend found out yesterday that one of her friends from school was killed on Tuesday night in Walkabout in Portsmouth. Not much else to say, its the typical Navy vs Marine rivalry.

Beaten to death with a bar stool:

Utterly sickening.

Thanks!

Stupid thing to say for one or a few peoples doing. Glad you have lost respect for all of us.

Utterly sickeining comment really, when a lot of these guys are out saving your life even if you don't realise it!

I also hope this is sarcasm.rolleyes:

To be fair, most people who talk rubbish about the men in service couldnt last a day with the cadets let alone a day in something like the real Army or TA training.
