RTS/Sim time waster required....

hmm you should be able to sell them, i know i did...not sure whats going on...you could try another shipyard...if you take the west gate, then south, then south again, you will end up in Omicron Lyrae, it has a shipyard and an equipment dock, apart from that im not sure.

had a bit of a mess around with the starts but how do i start the plot/missions as the assassin?

Assassin start doesnt have any special plots, the only starts with special plots are. (you have to unlock these plots)

unholy traitor
poisoned parinid
tortured telardi ?

The Main plots can be started at any time provided you have the requied rank with the race offering the plot look for ships / stations with a book symbol.

Plots include

Terran (Terran)
Gonar (Gonar)
Final Fury (Argon / Split)
Hub (Boron)
Player HQ (Boron)
Did i miss any?

You are also lots of side missions all over the place.

it jsut says products are not bough :/

Thats because you are trying to buy not sell, in order to buy you must first have the rank and the £££ for it.

dock the ship you want to sell at the ship yard and enter the trade menu, your player owned ships will apear in green at the top.

Note you cannot sell the ship you are currently piloting.

Final Fury (Argon / Split)

Player HQ (Boron)

Few more for me to get involved in then, I've done the Terran one, I'm doing the Final Fury one (getting board o jumping into Khaak sectors and getting battered by millions of scouts when in an M6 - or if I jump in with an M7 I land next to a Destroyer )

Shame I have to be nice to the Boron to get some more missions from them... lol

I know its ruined my split hates all things boron start as ive made freinds with them. I just keep telling my self "ive only lured them into a false sence of security soon i will wipe the peace loveing squid from the universe". :D

I should have loved X3 but I couldn't get past the silliness of bakeries in space and the contrived NESW gates and lattice like universe. Shame.

So when you have millions of people living and working in space you will ship all food up to them. Or would you produce the required food is easily maintained stations.

NSEW gates, yes i agree its a bit pointless it could just be "gate at 102,33,99".

Lattice like? You need to read some back history then you would know the universe isnt lattice like. Just the jump gate connections have been layed out to create a easy to navigate network.

I just got sick after watching haulers fly into roids.

That was probably X3:R v1, things have moved on a lot since then. Cant remember the last time i saw a TS fly into a roid.

So the technology to live and work in space exists but the main food stuff (only?) is a Meatsteak Cahoona produced from beef from the space based cattle ranches?
Is that really the best the creators could come up with? Maybe it's just me but it comes across as daft, contrived and unbelievable.

well i think there are currently 7-8 different food stuffs in the game how mny different ones do you want.

how much money would ibe looking at getting to get a nice ts and equip it with the gear it needs to go off trading ion its own?

also is there any penalty for failing missions.

edit: i have got enough rep to buy the teladi mk3 trader software. but what else do i need(including a ship)

It's just a game - lighten up :p

Built my first complex earlier (well first for TC) Hate how messy they always look. Stations just seem a pain in the neck to make money from. :(

Make most of my cash from assassination missions. Anyone know of any addon scripts that make killed ships drop more loot, its quite frustrating to kill a destroyer loaded with 50+ guns for it to only drop 3-4 missiles

Woooop just captured a Paranid Zeus :D

Saved just before I capped it so I could redo it to make sure it had some good loot. 3x2GJ Shields, 12 ICB's, 5x PPC's and a few other bits and pieces. Awesome find :D

Capped it with only my Hyperion + 5 marines. Sadly I lost one of the marines - he got killed by something before getting into the ship - which just makes it more awesome I got so much through just 4 marines :D

nice going, wish i could do something like that in the future, this little sabre is sucking soo bad, my combat rating is quite high and well its spawning really tough ships most the time, like zenon QX's and P's, plus L's escorting it :( so navigating certain systems is quite hard and my little Demeter TS ship well i lose that a lot when its on a trade run

Does anyone play this with just a keyboard and mouse?

I was going to get it via Steam but I'm scared of wasting the £15 on a game that is crap without a proper joystick.

Also - has anybody recently just picked this up? That is, are new to the whole thing? I'd be interested to hear how you've found the learning curve, as pretty much every review mentions how it can make or break your enjoyment of the game. Again, don't want to be wasting the pennies :D

From the little snippets people have posted though it sounds right up my street.

Cheers!

I've been playing for 2 days, playing with KB and mouse and its fine. I also didn't find the learning curve as bad as people say, the manual is very good and the terran plot missions at least have a short basic flight school built in 9haven't tried the others). Having said that I play a lot of EVE and frankly nothing bar hardcore flight sims feels like much of a learning curve after that :p
