Insurance for being scammed

I'm starting to wonder if this isn't just a subtle (ok not that subtle) troll.

Surely no one is actualy this thick?

Ok here's what happened,

You agreed to meet some person(s) to buy a laptop or two.

You meet them in a public place and they probably ask about the money so you begin counting it to make sure it's all there.

THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN IT'S GONE WITH A WHOOSH, LIKE WOTSITS.

Regardless of the retardedness of the situation, they basically just took money off you by force. Doesn't matter if you arranged to meet them, or that you were possibly going to just hand the money over anyway. The bottom line is a car drove up, you got money out your pocket and they snatched it. I imagine the police would just treat it as a mugging after they've picked themselves up off the floor.

If it ever really happened, that is.

There was a similar thing on The Real Hustle. But they actually sold them to bag and said to them right before giving them the bag with a bottle of water in and receiving the money that they were selling them it.

Yeah, I've seen this on TV a number of times, I think it was on Traffic Cops or Road Wars too.

The crux of the matter is that the OP's stupidity exposed himslef/herself to this situation. Someone who was a bit more savvy wouldn't even of been in this situation and wouldn't be poorer for it. I always get dodgy people trying to sell me stuff on the street, no matter how good the deal seems it's going to be a scam.

Even more than the stupidity of the laptop buying, I love how the OP thinks there might be some kind of insurance for being scammed!
