Anyone had an issue getting that rainmeter hud to work, installed and extracted to the skins folder but it does appear in my list?
Yes! Only had a quick try as i was busy doing other things but i only had the choice of the two original ones...

Edit: nvm, in my haste i installed rainlender not rainmeter.... lmao.

Can anyone suggest a system monitor skin that might go with this? Nothing fancy, just CPU (quad)/RAM/network.

As you have rainmeter, I would suggest either hud.vision or enigma, both found on deviant art. You say quad core, so you want to see the load on each core? I can't remember if either skin allows you to do that straight away butI've done that on my dual core, so I could post the code if needed.

OK...I have the 10ft HUD skin working ok on Rainmeter, but I can't seem to get the weather gadgety thing working properly. It's just tells me the temp and displays "N/A"

is there a config file I need to download/create?

edit: sorted it. but i won't bother with the weather. if i want to know what the weather's like i'll look out the window.

It's all about aesthetics. There is little doubt that a dock can look better than having a desktop riddled with icons and a double layered taskbar with reams of quick launch shortcuts.
